Sidenote ... am I the only person on that entire website who finds it abnormal for a grown man to: (a) use, and/or (b) find the phrase "fig"/"faggy" to be comical?
It's of no importance to me if/when someone says it; but the numbers of upvotes, laughing emojis, and cyber fist bumps received by those who utter the unwitty word is puzzling.
I think about the gentlemen in my life--on and/or off the Internet--making such an unintelligent comment, and I snicker. My sense of humor must need calibration.

Maybe in the USA
In Europe fig was a common word for cigarette
In English boarding schools the fig was the underclassmen who had to do the upperclassmen's errands and chores.

The internet has gone from the highbrow of higher education and government (edu and gov) to the lowbrow of the masses and bathroom humor. The current fascination with anal sex and using your phone in the bathroom tells me we are in a downward spiral.

One-half of my family lives in the United Kingdom.
My mother holds dual US/UK citizenship.
I've spent extensive time in Britain and Europe and am very aware of the application of the word fig across the pond.
I'm pretty certain you don't believe for one second that's the definition intended by the ill-bred kids on tSECr when they "cleverly" use the word.
