Kyle Allen doesn't have "elite" arm talent to sling the ball, he isn't showing "elite" decision making and he isn't showing "elite" mobility.

He definitely should win ya'll ~10 games/year if the defense under Chavis gets going. He just won't take TAMU to the promise land and I got to believe there is better options out there

I don't see why you're laughing? Do you think he is better or worse than poor man's Aaron Murray?

Aaron Murray was an absolute stud at UGA so even if Kyle Allen ends up being "the guy" it is unlikely to end up getting to Aaron Murray level production (SEC records). I dno't see Kyle Allen's ceiling above Aaron Murray's actual production

if you are suggesting Kyle Allen is worse than a "Poor Man's Aaron Murray" well he does have TAMU with only 1 loss right now

he same hometown as Allen and he was the same way in HS. His senior year, he had a ~top100 6'5 230lb WR in Mark Andrews (OU TE now) and some other weapons but still underperformed for the HS level. His HS isn't a historical powerhouse but "#1 QB" + elite HS WR in Arizona should demand better.

Aaron Murray is what we should be hoping for Kyle at the NCAA level.

13k yards, 120 TD and a career 159 QB rating?

1. Did Kyle ever run a zone read in high school? He misreads the play a lot. Giving when he should be keeping and vise-versa.

2. He was scared of 'Bama because of our OL. He rushed a couple of those pick 6's because of his fear.

3. Our Offense has no identity. At least under Kingsbury it was throw at will, not run when necessary. No we are a potpourri of concepts with no tangible calling card.

I didn't mean this as a huge diss. Aaron Murray hold most SEC passing records

You do realize that Aaron Murray is the SEC record holder in multiple categories? He did that despite being in a run first offense, avg OL and perpetually injured/suspended WRs

Kyle Allen is in an Air Raid and isn't having statistically superior statlines than Murray's SO season.

He did that in Mike Bobo's pedestrian pro style offense too.

I can ask friends but I remember playing DMHS and they did not run the zone read. That was ~2-3 years before Allen but same coach I believe

Allen is more physically gifted than Murray IMO. Murray was an excellent college QB though. Air Raid is kind of a misnomer for our offense at this point. Yesterday was the first time the pass/run split really reflected it this year.

This is exactly how I feel about Allen. He's good, he's not great, and that's why Murray will be the starter next season.

People will point out that Kyler Murray hasn't looked good (and he hasn't) but the two meaningful games he was thrown out there and given a chance to run the offense, was against asu, and Bama...with a very short leash. Given the chance to navigate games as the starter I think he would learn to neutralize the rush with his scrambling and eventually start to light it up throwing. Much in the same way Jff started out his career.

But The way sumlin is handling both qb's right now isn't inspiring confidence in either one.

I agree but not by some drastic margin. I don't think that Allen's deep ball is going to be a huge weapon and he needs to improve on his accuracy. He can make the throws but I don't see him making "sweet baby jesus" throws

does that mean anything about how he will do in his junior and senior season?

his touchdown pass to josh reynolds in the nevada game and his touchdown pass to christian kirk in OT against arky are about as this is a first round pick as a throw can be

and kyle so far is having a better sophomore season than arron murray did. he has a higher qb rating, more yards per attempt, and a higher completion percentage and thats with the absolute shite game he just had. aaron murray was throwing for more yards but kyle is being more efficient
