Trevor Knight bought Sumlin another year, otherwise he would have only had 1. It only took 1 game in that extra year for him to blow it.

Was???

He hasn't exactly played any decent defenses this year either. For all we know, he'll fold again vs Bama.

My brain still can't comprehend what Sumlin and Mazzone were thinking in that UCLA game. All they had to do was run the playclock down and keep it on the ground the rest of the game and we win no sweat. Mora was about to throw in the towel with how Rosen was getting knocked around. For whatever reason they decided a true freshman who barely completed 50% of his passes on a stacked HS team should run HUNH and pass 2 out of every 3 plays on each set of downs.

There are very few times I flat out know I would have done a better coaching job than the actual staff but that game after Starkel's injury I 100% know. The announcers could have won it calling plays from their booth. Pretty sure every single poster on this board could have won that game coming out of the stands not even knowing the fricking playbook. Anyone who had ever salted away a lead on Madden could have done it. That shite was so bad it makes me wonder if they had money on the spread.

I was in the rose bowl. Screaming my head off because they kept snapping the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock.

One of the only games I can truly say with 100% certainty was all on the coach. Just run the damn clock down. We didn't even need a 1st down the entire 4th quarter. Just kneel the damn ball for 15 plays.

I try not to think about it. I was sitting there in the 3rd quarter and got a bad feeling and started actively managing my blood pressure because I could see the shite coming. A brotha had to prepare.

The State loss the year before broke me so I was just leaning on past experiences

It was brutal. Just so unexpected. That was when we had the #4 ranking right?

Yup. I let myself have just a tiny little seedling of true hope only to see that garbage. I didn't lash out but I took the shite personally

I mean, when all you have to do is not lose to a Mississippi school, then go out and lose to one in embarrassing fashion.....that's a terrible thing to do to a person. It eats away at the soul

We lost to Ole Miss in embarrassing fashion too if I recall correctly. Pretty sure they went up 35-0 at Kyle.

Yup. They’re not the first or the last coaches who couldn’t see the forest for the trees. It’s definitely a “thing”. Endless, blind, 100% belief in the supremacy of “muh system” without regard for reality or logic or allowances for exceptions has lead many a coach down the Sumzonne path,

Lost to BOTH in back to back weeks. The Ole Miss loss was even worse because he managed to piss away a 21-6 4th quarter lead to a true freshman starting his first ever game at QB.

And to make matters worse, now I have to root for the little nimrod since he transferred to Michigan.

And OF COURSE he let me down in an embarrassing loss to ohio st.

The shame of it, sir.
