If they matched etc and he still leaves that makes them look worse imo.

Tallahassee is a shite hole. That should be the number one negative factor of their “job rank”

They’ve already gone there with saying they’ve offered everything he wanted and if he leaves it because of his pride

I've passed through there. The town doesn't look that bad from the interstate, but then again I didn't stop.

Is it really bad?

I’ve had lunch there a time or two. I like the area but it is very hillbilly

Forbes ranked it the 8th most dangerous city, and it also is an annual contender in the std rankings.

It’s not in what you’d call a cultured area of Florida, and it isn’t on the beach.

Aren't the towns of most academically challenged institutions always dominating these rankings? Lubbock and San Marcos always made the national lists iirc.

Been through a couple times. Stopped there once to buy a truck (the erstwhile "White Whale" ) from an Air Force guy.

Town didn't seem bad too me. No worse than the typical midsize college town tbh.

Not me. I REALLY wanted this staff to make it.

As did I. I was holding out hope for him to turn it around up until the beginning of last season. Bungling away a #4 ranking was the final straw for me.

Crazy thing is, we were. And we were the year before that. But that's Sumlin's ceiling. "Close."

Better than we had been, but not where we can/should be with our talent/resources.

I still like the man as a person and hope he finds success elsewhere.

Amen, very well said. I don’t think many people (outside of the mystery letter writer) dislike him personally as a person. Alleged drinking incidents notwithstanding he did a good job of representing our university and wasn’t a “bad” coach. He just couldn’t get over the hump either.

So many qualifiers to his seasons:

“in 2014 if Kenny Hill wouldn’t have fallen off the wagon.....”

“If the two 5 star QBs wouldn’t have transferred in 2015”

“If our transfer QB wouldn’t have gotten hurt in 2016”

“If Starkel wouldn’t have gotten hurt and we had to start mind this year”

Too many ifs, and sumlin never showed he could coach his way out of any of those situations and build a consistent competing team. Close only counts in horse shoes and frag grenades as the old cliche goes.

You forgot one.

"If 2/3 of the 2013 class didn't completely burn out, fail out, get arrested, or transfer".

I tried to erase that class from memory, it really is scary how bad/empty it was within 2 years.

Will Orangebloods or tRant have the better reaction to Jimbo?

It’s going to be close, but I feel like LSU fans are talking themselves into Orgeron and Texas fans are doing the opposite with Herman. Either way, it’s going to be hilarious.

Member when RBR had a special melt from when Saban didn't go to the sips and Mack Brown stayed on, then retired?

I’m surprised more teams are trying to troll Ags about this instead of corndogs. This is prime Cajun season.

OB and Shaggy will be better. LSU has 7 in a row and finished the year strong. I wouldn’t say Texas is reeling but they expected more from this year, even the rational ones, and they’ve been effectively swinging for the fences coaching wise since Mack left and still haven’t landed anything

Heard from a pretty decent source tonight that Jimbo's in, and it will be announced on Friday.

Big for us because Jimbo generally recruited the South Ga area pretty well (and did well in other parts of Ga).

Really just shows how dedicated y’all are to winning, which has to be nice to see as a fan base.

I'm here to eat crow, happily.

Jimbo is the least disappointing hire possible, and I'm glad we got him.
