Based on his politics postings, I tend to think he's serious and takes himself very seriously. But who knows? Most of us aren't 100% real on here.
The fact that people like him exist scares the shite out of me.

They intentionally spit on the steps as some were seen overtly doing two years ago, they litter, they confront our own fans right on OUR Statehouse steps ... and many of us are not cool with it.
I and SafetySam and Father of SafetySam were there pretty close to the steps in '14, and never saw anything like "spit on the steps". Why would anyone do that? We had a good time there. USC students turned out in much bigger numbers than I'd have expected at midnight, and were as loud as they could be. I was impressed with that. I talked to a bunch of them. #1 question: "Why are you called Aggies?"
It's clear to me that fellow old curmudgeon scrooster was not there and is making shite up. I've no idea why, unless he just really, really hates the idea of opponents gathering at what he considers a shrine.

He just reminds me of every old smalltown bullshitter I've ever known. You can't tell if they genuinely believe what they're saying, or if they're just so looped by the years that they think they're talking to children.
But it's always the same formula:
1. Long-winded story incorporating mundane facts (to establish credibility)
2. Inside scoop from trusted contacts
This formula also applies to Coast to Coast AM callers.

I like how he tries to make the Civil War about taxes and not slavery even though in South Carolina's declaration for succession they never once mention tariffs and taxes but very prominently bitch and moan about Northern states hostility towards slave states, their refusal to enforce the fugitive slave act, claim the Federal govt has no right to abolish slavery, and that slavery is protected by the Constitution.

went down about a decade ago and rode the border of my Uncle's and cousins' ranch ... my Grandfather's original ranch that he bought during The Great Depression. Rode the border on horseback for a month trying to help stop the illegals that were coming across the border and butchering cows and horses as they went .... was actually part of the party that found a Qur'an at one of the campsites. Helped to catch some drug mules ... hell, I'm all about Texas being part of my heritage. I've got a cousin who has made hundreds of millions insuring oil drilling companies ... he's good friends with Tommy Suggs. I hunt down there every December (although I may not go this December, I dunno, I probably will) and hob nob with literally the who's who of old school Texas ranch families, attorneys, oil men

So at my age and stage and given my profession most of my life I am fairly connected in all the right circles. Military, the University, state government and even certain places around D.C. Now, I've got a friend who is not only very connected in D.C., but so is his wife. I usually keep my mouth shut about what I hear coming out of up there ... he's a libtard. No, actually, he's a fricktard when it comes to politics but he's one of what we used to be called "The Fab Five." There are five of us, best friend's for over forty years, Godparents to each other's children, all of us very successful. We call one another "The Peezos" a play on Piasani from our years in Italy.
It goes on and on from there. He had inside info that the real powers in D.C. were about to have Trump impeached or something. I bumped the thread after the date he said we would all see, but of course he never replied.

I’m ready for a comeback to the rant. I’ve been rejoicing in enough winning, I’m ready to brace for disappointment from Jimbo.

This 100%. And no doubt he believes himself on what he’s saying (or typing in this case).
