Watch him come groveling here to SA to try to play for the Commanders

Don't want him.

Your starting QB Logan Woodside has completed just 49% of his passes (61/123) for 735 yards (roughly 184 per game) 2 TDs and 5 INTs. Pretty sure Manziel could play with a hangover from an all night bender and best that.

FWIW guys like Warren Moon and others have been speculating that JFF purposely broke his agreement b/c he didn't want to play in the shite show at Montreal anymore. While that might make him a dick (they did trade two first rounders for him) their o-line was so god awful I wouldn't blame him for wanting out. Any player who wants to have another shot at the NFL would be better served in the AAF anyway. CFL's rules and style of play are different enough that the experience gained there can't possibly be as valuable as what you'd get playing by American rules.

That said, if an AAF team picks him up I'd bet it would be San Diego. Their starter hurt his shoulder and their other two QBs (original starter Mike Bercovici and Alex Ross) have been disasters. It's rumored he will work out for teams here in the near future. San Antonio has right of first refusal due to regional rules but anyone can sign him if they pass. Considering how much trouble some teams have had drawing a crowd I really wouldn't be shocked to see him suit up in the second half of the season.

Of course it might be in his best interest to sit out this year and wait for the XFL. Vince has somewhat wavered on the no past criminal history stance and apparently playing in the XFL will be potentially much more lucrative and won't force players into multiple year contracts like the AAF.

The AAF signs you to a 3 year deal non guaranteed for $250 total. Year one you get $70k, year two you get $80k, and year 3 you get $100k. That's all of course if the league still even exists in 3 years. Also, their deal bars you from going anywhere other than the NFL. If a CFL or XFL team wants you you're shite out of luck unless your team cuts you and all 7 of the other AAF teams pass.

The XFL is going to do 1 year deals that will pay anywhere from $75k up to $250k. You can go to whatever league will have you if you want to move on after that year. With two teams in Texas and a league that will want star power to gain traction over the AAF it also wouldn't be a surprise to see the XFL push for Johnny to wait it out.

Good for Nick. I hope he's great for them and that we take his head off when we play.

frick that. He chose a division rival. I hope he experiences nothing but pain, and heartbreak. If he had gone anywhere else I would have been pulling for him.

How much of a rival is Arkansas at this point? They’re averaging 5 wins (<2 conference) per year since we joined. Idk if you saw them this year buy Aggy Chad couldn’t get anything out of them.

Personally I rank them high because their fans are the closest thing to Texas Tech fans on our schedule.

But TTU were more annoying because they beat as a rate that was disproportional to how good they were.
