Morris appeals to SMU fans to come out and see them take on #15 UCF. Tickets available for $12.
LINK
I watched a little bit of their game against Tulsa last week. The attendance was pitiful. According to ESPN, official attendance figure was 14,930.
LINK
Maybe that many tickets were sold, but I would have guessed about 5,000 people there from what I could see on TV.
Morris has coached high school games with better attendance than what he is getting at SMU.

Not really a defense of the SMU fanbase but having a Texas based school with a smaller fanbase play a home game on a Friday night vs the smallest school in FBS (Tulsa has just 3,100 undergrads) is just asking for the stands to be empty.
Morris should be pissed at the AAC for setting it up for ESPN and at SMU for agreeing to it. shite, not even looking at the bad attendance, how are you supposed to invite recruits out if they are all going to be playing at that same time?

Morris on his process of devising an offensive game plan.
LINK
Morris: "If you have to call the perfect play, it's going to be a long night anyway"
So it sounds like he is a "good plan properly executed is better than a perfect plan" kind of coach.

People forget but Morris had a big impact on Sherman transforming the offense in 2009. If only he would’ve hired him to take over as OC.

The State 7-on-7 is now a three-day extravaganza staged in mid-July in College Station, home of Texas A&M. That's mildly ironic, considering the Aggies' struggles throughout much of this decade to move the ball. After his squad finished last season 78th in total offense, A&M coach Mike Sherman reached out to none other than Chad Morris for tips on how to pick up the tempo on offense. It has come to this: The man whose offensive acumen helped him land the head coaching job for the Green Bay Packers—a position he held for six years—sought the counsel of a 41-year-old high school coach to defibrillate his offense. And how has that worked out? Led by Johnson, the junior from Humble, the Aggies rank sixth in the country in total offense this year.

Ouch. I’ll admit I didn’t think he’d be this big a flop and thought he was a fine “safety net” if we didn’t land a bigger coach and fell back to him.
31-10 at home right now to north Texas. They absolutely needed to fire bert like we needed to fire Sumlin, but I couldn’t imagine they’d be this much worse....

His offense utilizes players that are the complete opposite of the ones he has.
Having said that...GOD DAYUM, CHAD!!!

Arkla Missy, hoginthesw, and piggilicious are solid. Drewbie and Pigimus Prime, too.
