Which is why these practice reports shouldnt be sugar coated.

What the bloody hell are you on about?

Sugar-coated?

What’s sugar-coated about the most recent practice report copy/pasted above?

Are we reading the same thing/inhabiting the same universe?

Because if I were to summarize that report I’d say “Our offense sucks right now because it’s going through growing pains while transitioning to playing real football, we currently have no answer at QB, our offensive line is crap and is learning how to actually play offensive line for the first time, and our defense only looks good because the offense doesn’t know what it’s doing.”

I didn’t get a lot of positivity out of it at all, much less “sugar-coating”.

It's pretty crazy that Ausbon might end up being the better part of that recruiting combo.

I could be wrong, but I think he was using that update as an example of no sugar-coating.

I agree with you though, there was really no positives in that update.

Not everything was negative. Our kickers are very good.

This will be a VERY different A&M team next year. I also think Mond will be the QB, because Starkel continues to have interception issues. I think we MIGHT win seven games at most, but make no mistake

We could be really good in a year or two

If that’s the case then I apologize to WBS.

Yes I think it’s as honest an appraisal as you can give without lapsing into “bashing”. You can’t focus on the negative if you want to last in that business, but at the same time I think he was as clear as he could be that we are certainly “mid transition” right now and expectations for the coming season should be tempered.

Probably Kellen Mond. The kid I think is going to be wiling to sit and wait his turn from what I'm hearing. I don't think he will get the nod out of camp but he is learning at a faster rate than Starkel and could very well be the guy down the road. Maybe in game two or maybe in year two.

Wonderful, so we lose a returning starter on the offensive line. The rant will LOVE this.

Here is my quote from a few weeks ago:
quote:

I will also tell y'all the coaching staff is really high on our OL. They have been telling people some of the younger guys may be named starters due to their talent and to expect new names at the top of the two deep
