You pay for a cordless drill to use. He gets paid to operate a cordless drill in a commercial and never will have to pick it up again. I’m sure he does not care what brand he gets paid to hawk.

Bought Ryobi once, in a “Just need it very occasionally so will go cheap” case.

There’s a difference between buying a product because you actually want it and getting paid to promote a product you’ll never have to buy yourself.

But sure, tell yourself it’s a “man thing” when the reality is you just don’t understand the difference between consumer preference and paid advertising.
