Do you think any team would actually leave the SEC?

I used to think that would be an impossibility. But more and more the SEC just seems to be kicking each other's heads in while the other conferences have an easy schedule and are rested for the playoffs.

It might be a logical choice for some teams.

I could definitely see texas going independent.

Honestly any of the big brands that maybe could go independent probably should.

If your name gets you the benefit of the doubt and a preseason ranking, like notre dame, just schedule weak and make the playoff every year and never share revenue again.

100%. Listening to Kirk and company blow Notre Dame all night was disgusting. Even after BYU won all they would talk about is the Irish and how they would still make the playoffs and be seeded highly.

But it proves my point. Like you say, as long as you have a big brand you can go independent, schedule a ton of cupcakes and get a first round bye every year.

I wish A&M would do so. We could easily be like Tech and get blown out on an annual basis in the playoffs. But at least we would get there. Who cares if you play a terrible schedule.

Oklahoma. Those days of winning ten games a year are over.

I could see Arky moving to the Big 12 so they can cruise their way to 10 wins like Texas Tech.

Also the Texas brass won't like being an upper middling team with the insane $ they put into their program, they'd prob go indy.

If Gregory doesn’t shape up I have it on good authority that lsu is leaving. Unfortunately that will consequently scuttle the conference and the member schools, but it’s a necessary evil.

Gregory cannot be allowed to carry on.

It’s a legitimate question when you look at teams like BYU and Texas Tech who will coast to the playoff every year.

this is irrelevant. As long as the money is flowing, nothing is changing and no one is leaving.

Tough day for Bama and Georgia. The sport is fine. You’re just not winning every game. Welcome back to the real world. Besides losing to UT isn’t the end of the world,

Ok but if we have a 24 team playoff wouldn’t you want those patsies in the first round?

Not it's not, sigh. It's being equalized with paying legal now for everyone.

Texas has enough national media support and feels like they would attempt it most.
