I agree. And also disagree.
From a football perspective it makes total sense. Easier teams. Easier path.
From a business perspective, like it our not, the A&M brand is not the Texas brand or the Bama brand. Or the ND brand. It just isn’t.
We would take a huge pay cut. We need a conference to survive. Many teams are like us. Potentially good but not a national brand. LSU. Ole Miss. Florida.
Those teams need a conference. The others should go independent.

It's really about TV money. Texas, LSU, whoever, would need to get guaranteed tv contract money to play that card. That may be actually getting easier with the Prime and Netflix players getting more and more flushed with cash.
