was 4.5 million last season. Clemson was next in line with 3.2 and Texas A&M 2.9.

LINK

Now, I don't throw this out there to brag on my school, but serious inquiry; what does this really mean in a day and age of NIL and the changing landscape of recruiting? Does this mean that other schools are perhaps holding out and sinking more money into the NIL fund so they can lure away one of those 5 star skill players from UGA or Bama or Ohio St that don't wanna sit on the bench for 3 years at some point in the future?

That being said, it's obviously working, since we had the #2 class last season and have the #1 class now. But again, is all of that changing? Is it only the UGA's and the Clemson's and the Bama's in the country that are relying on good ol fashion get-em-outta-highschool recruiting and not resorting to a plug-in-and-play savior. And maybe that's the way it has to be now for some schools. I dunno...I'm no expert. What do you experts think?

It means you guys are spending double, triple for Bama recruiting results. Dang. We probably got a deal on our 2022 class compared to you guys.

And we are getting Bama recruiting results on the field.

Maybe y’all still aren’t spending enough.

I believe some have mentioned that UGA doesn't use a University-owned plane which others do so that can screw with the accounting a bit.

Correct. A lot of this depends on how costs are allocated.

Don't comments like this typically get thrown out on the Rant board over their with the highschool kids? I threw this out here for an adult, mature conversation.

Probably. But we got two National Championships out of our classes. Who go the better deal, in your opinion?

Are you insinuating that Auburn is not playing the NIL game?

Well hell, Auburn’s spent over $75 million in 3 yrs for buyouts due to lack of success.

Your budget should be smaller since you're rich in instate talent. Tennessee had a huge budget for years but it was for a reason. Same with Nebraska.

Actually, part of it is that UGA doesn't have a school owned private jet, instead using charter flights for recruiting.

Bama has a private jet they use for recruiting and the purchase price of hat is not in any way factored into their yearly recruiting budget. UGA's charter flights are.

People worry too much about this stuff.

I always thought we would be better at it. It seems we have found our checkbook lately. I just hope we play it hard until it changes

I mean, we were built for this

I don't think recruiting budget has anything to do with NIL or levels of commitment to NIL.

It means Kirby is relentlessly recruiting, and nobody should be surprised
