The rant didn't seem to be interested in anything that was not a meme or a troll.

For people interested in recruiting, this is a very good article.

This sums up how much college football and recruiting have changed.

quote:

ORLANDO, Fla. — For the second year in a row we caught up with some of the best high school football players in the country at the Under Armour All-America Game’s media day event to tackle a variety of recruiting topics.

We granted them anonymity to gather their insights on NIL, the coaches they liked (and didn’t like) and what rules they would like to see changed.

quote:

Did you sign with the school that offered you the best NIL deal? If not, how much did you leave on the table to sign with where you ultimately decided to go?

• It wasn’t a big difference for me in terms of the total package. All the schools offered about $300,000 to $400,000 per year with the ability to earn more.

• I left some money on the table, about $50,000. But I signed with my dream school.

• The dollar figures were similar so NIL wasn’t a priority for me. I’m worried about the big bucks later. My relationship with the coaches, watching them practice and seeing it was really was the biggest factor.

Obviously it was a priority for you if you don't look at other schools that didn't offer you top dollar

Sounds like a mature kid. Many are playing offers against each other to get premium.

• Georgia. They’d drive me everywhere and bring me food to my seat during games on my unofficial visits. I went there sometimes just for the free chicken.

Thanks for bringing this tot he board. It was interesting to read.

As if recruiting in the NIL/portal era didn't seem dirty AF before, I read this shite. I guess if you're a drama queen of a recruit it could be fun, but it just seems exhausting to me.

This response summed the state of things up pretty well…

“What would you change about the recruiting process?

Answer- For me, more money. Definitely more money.”

Anybody want to still pretend this isn’t pro football?

Dude, 3-4 hundred thousand dollars is big bucks. Go ahead and buy your dream car because that may be the last time you ever get to do that.

Or bet on yourself and get millions of dollars as an NFL player.

Some of those kids shocked me in a very good way. Some others were exactly what I expected.

Good read. Thanks for posting.

They said they took similar money at the better situation. The big bucks will come when they make it to the NFL. They aren't giving up hundreds of thousands of dollars for a chance at getting tens of millions of dollars.

Thats the recruiting pitch sold to them, sure. Doesn't make it accurate.

There's no such thing as a troll on this board. You're just being paranoid.
