And this is about this year's top recruits. So, barring injury
He should be focused on the NFL money.

I think you missed the point the kid was making, sure money is important, you would be an idiot to play for free.

These are, a lot of them, 5 stars kids. He is saying, if he can get playing time early, knowing he could be a three and out and go pro, yes it would make a lot of sense to take a 20% haircut on the NIL be able to prove himself early and probably move himself up a few spots on the draft making well more than the 20% paycut he took.

In other words, the last 50grand was not worth it, not the total nut.

College football is doomed. frick the Supreme Court for ruling that NCAA teams have to allow players to be compensated
