Although to be honest I never really saw him do much, even in the Spring Game. He was always considered more of a receiver than a blocker. Not too smart to be cooking up the Mary Jane in the dorm room, but hey, it isn't like he participated in a violent robbery of a fellow student...oh wait.

He had to get cash flow somehow after his textbook scheme fell through
But seriously, I just feel like Bama could have found a comparable talent without the baggage

I thought he was a little lite to play TE when he was here. But congrats Bama. And good for him for getting a second chance.

Yeah. I wonder if this was a Lane Kiffin deal. Once he evaluated the talent at TE for Bama, he realized we need another threat in the passing game. Since most of the TE were off the board by the time he was hired, they went with Smith. Hope he pulls it off.

He made it a point to mention after his visit that every Bama coach "liked his character". I think it's a combination of need, availability, and being ready to play having been in a college program before. I don't think they would have taken him if they didn't think they couldn't handle him.
I would be remiss to not mention he started off his interview about the visit with "I am not going to lie..."

It will likely work out, I'm just skeptical given how his brief time at UGA went.

Not sure, but is this the same guy that tried to commit to us on twitter about a month ago without running it by our staff?

Probably. I know he was on the Ole Miss radar for a while.

I think so

Yeah. The reason our paysites gave was about his character questions. Who knows. He's going to be really productive at Bama IMO. Good get.

USC typically used more than one TE as a receiver. So, this makes sense with Kiffin as OC.

I'll let you know in about 8 months how I feel about this and Kiffin in general.

It's quite sad how true that statement really is in modern college football.
