quote:The last time Texas had more players drafted than LSU was 2007. LSU has had 25 more players drafted over the last 5 seasons, and 13 more players drafted in the last 3, as Texas managed to not have any players drafted in the 2022 draft.
Last year Texas had 5 players drafted and LSU had 6 players drafted. Both look to compete in 2023 with multiple 2024 draft picks on their respective rosters. So saying Texas hasn't had as many guys drafted in 2014 like LSU did is not really relevant.
That's the difference between the programs right now.
When LSU went 5-5, they had 7 guys drafted.
When LSU went 6-7, they had 10 guys drafted.
When Texas went 7-3, they had 5 guys drafted.
When Texas went 5-7, they had 0 guys drafted.
quote:In the context of elite college football programs, over the last decade, Those programs offer very little to a prospective recruit.
Saying Texas, a&m and Miami have absolutely "nothing to present to a potential recruit besides money" is definitely trolling, sour grapes, ignorance, or just all of the above

Oh goodness, we’ve now gotten to where texas fans try to convince up they haven’t been one of the dirtiest recruiting programs since the 70’s

ETA: All of these Texas fans are getting mighty upset over LSU fans' opinions that are backed up with data.
That data points to the fact that if a recruit wants any of these things:
(1) a shot at a national title;
(2) a shot at a conference title; or
(3) a shot at the NFL
Then Texas, Miami, USC, Tennessee (throwing them in here for now, but I believe them to be more legitimate than the rest), and A&M (the schools that are by in large throwing the most NIL money around) are not the schools they should attend. The data backs those points up.
If a kid wants to make a million dollars at 18 instead of having a better shot at 30 million at 22, I do not blame them at all. Every body has a different situation. No sour grapes from me. I also don't expect this to be the end of Colin's recruitment.

You do?? Last I checked he’s on year 3 and averaging 7.5 wins per season, did you fire Sark?
But yeah, year 3 is when you can call it a new coach's team. If his record is 8 & 4 this year we'll have something to worry about. You know what I'm talking about, aggy?

Good thing we have a transfer portal now.
Simmons can take the 7 figures from Texas and transfer to LSU and play for a winner.

He left out the part where he was supposed to mention that his team plays in the equivalent of the mountain west conference

Oh, right, because that never happened in the SWC.

I'm no fan of Jimbo, but he knows how to build an SEC team.
Texas is in trouble, and they know it. That's why they're spending millions on 17 year olds.

This isn't 2011. Players get paid to stay on the roster.

Heck of an addition for Texas. Bonafide stud off the Edge and from a power house HS program that plays great competition. Nice get Horns.

Jimbo in aggregate at the moment is not a proper comp for Sark. Jimbo has at least fielded a Top 5 team and won an Orange Bowl while at A&M. He has consistently beaten Top 10 teams through his tenure here.
The pinnacle of Sark's career was his 20th ranked USC squad finishing 5th overall in the Pac-10 and squeaking by an unranked Nebraska team in the Holiday Bowl.
He may be your guy, but he has zero track record so far including his time at Texas.
