we have no clue what Freeze's ability to sculpt players into over any amount of time at all though. and that is a -major- thing... but i definitely agree, this recruiting class is hard to deny. props, rebs.

I'm having a hard time understanding Ole Miss' sudden success...but that's a far cry from assuming that there is massive cheating. Maybe a group of these top players got together and decided to come in as a package and "take over" a program with potential. Not unheard of.
But you have to admit, this level of sudden success among the very top players is rather unprecedented
It made sense when Miami kids came together in the mid-late 80s. Those were kids IN THE CITY that knew each other, played against each other in HS, sometimes lived next to each other.
What OM is doing, all of these OOS commits, is fishy, no matter where your allegiances lie.

This was a perfect storm for a guy that knows how to recruit. Can anyone deny Orgeron was an incredible recruiter? Freeze learned from Orgeron and is a much more likable person.
Freeze had a lot of connections to get in the picture with these recruits. He then sold the shite out of playing time and being part of something special that has never happened in Oxford.
Did we do some stuff that are against the rules? Sure, but nothing more than the rest of the SEC does.
Next year will be interesting to see if he can do it again without RN.

Playing time. SEC. Program on rise. Opportunity to be "the guy" who helps get them over the hump. Beautiful campus. Beautiful women. Premiere program in the state of Mississippi
Oxford is a decent campus. Beautiful women? I am sick of hearing this about Ole Miss, every SEC school has hot girls, the girls at Ole Miss just know how to cake of 10 inches of makeup and fool gullible lads like you.

He's just got so many relationships already built at UGA and recruiting is about relationships.
People with whom Leremy Tunsil has a recruiting relationship: Hugh Freeze, Robert Nkemdiche, Laquon Treadwell.
And, shite, probably Donte Moncrief too. That magnificent bastard can do anything.

Ole Miss has always had a lot going for it. They've needed the right guy. I don't think they are doing anything any "dirtier" than they were 2 years ago. Just better.
Hope you enjoyed that golden era of football, State fans. It would seem Ole Miss is about to join Bama, LSU, and AU as teams that own that arse.
This guy right here. I like him. I ought to buy him a beer.

Now with cell phones, Twitter, Facebook, Skype, etc., all of that "we're from the same area" shite doesn't matter any more.
Bad analogy is bad. These guys get each others phone numbers and Twitter handles and plan their recruitments. Need evidence? Check out @SuccessfulQuon. That dude has been more or less recruiting for Ole Miss.

I never put faith in guys recruiting other recruits. After watching Shepard try his damnedest in 09 I realized the effort is wasted. To use that as a reason is plain idiotic. They might have sparked his interest, but a guy wanting to play with so and so isn't a big reason to choose where to spend the next 3-4 years of your life.

Pretty much, but it depends on who is doing the selling. In this case, other recruits that are ultra-charismatic (Treadwell and RN) talked him into giving us a look - we just needed a chance.
Other recruits can't make the final decision for a guy, but other recruits can pique interest.
Our problem in the past was just getting elite guys to even step foot on our campus, not an issue this year. Obviously what we have to offer is appealing.

Is Freeze really THAT much better of a recruiter than Orgeron and Nutt?
Posted on 2/1/13 at 3:57 pm to Al Bundy Bulldog
He is much more of an active recruiter than Nutt was, especially Nutt's last 2 years. Freeze uses Orgeron's system but is a much more likable person.

Tunsil's coach has finally spoken. Luckily, I didn't see the words "done deal" in the article anywhere.

Nutt absofrickinglutely
When Orgeron was here he said if there was one person that was a better recruiter than him on staff it would be Freeze.

What did Freeze coach under Orgeron?

Wide receivers and had the recruiting coordinator title.

Possibly, but this year's class is also an example of the stars aligning just right. Who knew signing Anthony Standifer and Denzel Nkemdiche at the time would pay off so much down the line? And to that, a huge turn around on the field from 2-10 to 7-6, ending with emphatic wins, is easy to sell as progress.
