A lot of those guys we had to develop because our talent was awful. Only Vinnie has come in and surprised during the apex of our talent....and he's a db. I trust Saban to surprise me with db talent. Not so much at qb and kickers. I hope Morris develops into a heisman winner, multiple national championship winner, and first overall pick. I'll have to see our staff develop a project at qb before I believe it though

NNNOOOOOOOOOO LOL
J/k ah well Dom had the best FA and one of the best drafts, can't slaughter everything
Fo real doe he kilt dat draft sheet I'm VERY proud
I was hoping he would bring in Vlachos since we need a backup C and I GUARANTEE that sombich is gonna make the Titans might be starting C in 2 yrs, he was the best run blocking OC in CFB 3 yrs and no one touches him because he's 6'0 3/8 inches tall SMH
And
on Walker, I think the Gatas have started to concede him to us
Also off the topic, but I saw "Cabin in the Woods" last night truly crazy movie

I've had the chance to watch Morris on a few occasions at Allen. The kid has a lot of upside. Has some bad weight, but has a great upside in regards to his physical capabilities. Kid can be good, and do what's asked of Alabama QB's, plus a little more IMO.

Definitely not the reason he wasn't drafted.
Average Centers do not get drafted, then you have whatever classification Vlachos falls under.

I would guess that "bad weight" will be long gone by next spring. Lets hope Nuss can tuned in his upside pretty quickly.

Oh yeah. It doesn't take kids that have some bad weight long to get rid of it.

For Vlachos to make it in the NFL he will have to work in a zone blocking system where he can shield block rather than where he would be required to get a push. I do not know enough about what the Titans do to have a clue if he will fit into their system.

Titans do run a Zone.
Vlachos is just one of those college centers that don't make it in the NFL. It's a position that's very picky, no one drafts or carries a backup pure Center.
He's not gonna take the Titan's current backup Center's spot, who had already made the team. And he also happens to be the son of the OL Coach, one Bruce Matthews...

That would be a tough mountain to climb. He may have been better off working out the deal with the Raiders.

Would love to get that kid H. Poggi!

Update on EJ Moss
quote:
Just a little update on EJ...... he and my son have been working with a trainer all year and has gotten a lot stronger....... he looks more and more like a beast everyday. He was set to attend Bama's A-Day game but at the last second, AU invited him down.....so I did encourage him to go to the Barn in order to keep his options open. He and my son went down there and were underwhelmed to say the least. He told me that it was "a'ight, but it aint Tuscaloosa". I will keep you updated how spring practice goes for us/.

The only footage on him is from his freshman year, but it looks like he is accurate. He has excellent mechanics and a cannon. He runs well too.

He will be one of the highest rated QBs coming out in 2014 and is very accurate yes, doesn't get to show it very much, he will likely be asked to throw it more this year

Head coaches aren’t allowed on the road during the NCAA mandated May evaluation period, but that didn’t stop Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University school wide receiver Jordan Cunningham from communicating with Alabama’s Nick Saban.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder spoke with Saban via Skype last week and expects area recruiter Jeff Stoutland to check on him in the coming weeks.
“We were talking about Alabama, their academics, how they’d use me in the offense, and how it would be a good fit for me," said Cunningham. "Coach Stoutland is recruiting me for Alabama. I think he’s coming for spring practice.”
Cunningham is eyeing a summer visit to the Capstone in hopes of getting a closer look at the Alabama program.
“I’m trying to get to Alabama’s camp this summer. With Alabama, I like that they win championships, Nick Saban is a great coach, they run a pro-style offense, and I think that would prepare me for the NFL.”
The South Florida product has named Miami as his leader a few different times in the process thus far, but now maintains a top that includes the Hurricanes, the Crimson Tide, and three more out of state programs that he wants to see before making a decision.
“Alabama, Miami, Stanford, USC, Notre Dame- they’re all pretty even. I’ve just been to Miami this spring. I want to visit the schools, see how their campus is, and see how the visits go. I’m looking at the academics, the type of offense, and how they plan on using me. I’ll probably have to wait for official visits to go out to Stanford.”
Cunningham has a grade of 88 from 247Sports, making him a high three-star prospect. As a junior, he recorded 32 receptions for 574 yards and eight touchdowns, helping University School to a 12-1 record.

We've mentioned this before, but UA cornerback commit Anthony Averett is one of the top track athletes, specifically long jumpers, in the nation. Averett backed that up this weekend at the Penn Relays where he finished second to a participant from Jamaica, with a jump of 24 1/4 feet.
quote:
Averett jumped 25 feet, 21/2 inches a week ago, which is the best high school jump in New Jersey since Carl Lewis in 1979...so yeah, he's pretty special in that regard.
