Saban needs to stay away from those scat backs.
Considering Dee Hart ran better between the tackles on A-Day, I guess that makes Yeldon the scat back?

I called this back when both signed.
And you're gonna keep saying it until they graduate.
You've said the last 2 times they were rumored to be leaving, just for it to be false...
ETA: And for the record, as many times as you say it, you may eventually get it right.

You realize Hart is basically the same size Ingram was at this point?

It was a Michigan/Auburn battle until late, but he wouldn't have fit well at either of those schools either.
It was a Michigan/Bama battle until RR got fired.

He isn't quite that big. Ingram was probably ~195 when he got to campus and up to 205ish by his sophomore year. Hart is probably about 195 right now.
Regardless, he isn't a scat back. He can run between the tackles as well as anyone on the roster.

Yet Auburn piles on 5* qb talent year after year and don't see a transfer....smh.

This time it's different.
Danny freaking Sheridan is laying down the facts and we know he's ever, ever wrong!
Besides, Auburn will probably hit the same issue in a year or two. Zeke Pike and whatever highly rated quarterback we sign this year will battle it out for the starting position after Frazier leaves, and I expect the loser of the battle to want to transfer.

I don't think so.
Dee Hart was listed at 5'8 on his recruiting profile, so he's probably closer to 5'7. Mark Ingram was 5'9. Plus, I don't think Dee is around 210 pounds. He just looks small on the field. Maybe around 195?

Hart has the best jump cut of any back currently on the roster at Alabama. He still absorbs too much of the impact when being tackled but that will only improve with live action. His pass blocking is not bad, gets good possition but is still a little slow reading where to be. That will also improve with live action. He has good hands and will do well as a relief valve and in the screen game. The biggest problem for him is that Yeldon will likely hold him down as the number three/four back this year maybe moving up to two/three next year.

My point was he isn't so much smaller that he can't be a successful between the tackles type of back. I didn't make myself as clear as I should have, but you summed it up nicely in your last sentence:

Tyrik Rollison transferred after we brought in Cam Newton, and he was a high 4 star. That was probably due to grades and the future Heisman winner coming in. Like I said, either Zeke Pike or the highly rated quarterback out of this class will probably transfer. I fully expect it to happen.

Since the SECr thread got the anchor, can someone please, without referencing his height or weight, tell me why Dee Hart is not a "typical Bama RB"?

I see no similarities between Grant and Hart other than their size and the color of their skin.
Grant was an injury prone, Shula recruited, scatback who never showed consistency between the tackles. He also was a more slender back at 5-10, 185, while Hart was 5-8, 195 as a freshman. When you're at a smaller height, you don't have to bee 230 pounds to be an effective starting RB.
And I was a huge Terry Grant fan, he and then NG Brian Motley were my favorites Spring 2007...
