Phillip or Blake? Neither one would surprise me. Although if AJ has a good enough year and decides to leave early, Phillip would have an opportunity to start for 2 years.

Poster on Bol suggesting the Sims is gone after spring.

I'm pretty much over it already. It's not like has done anything to distinguish himself from Ely. I hope he sticks around, but I won't beg him to stay.

Here's the thing with Phillip. IF he's been taking care of things in the classroom, he should be on track to graduate by summer of '13 (remember he was an early enrollee). So, there's almost no benefit to transferring now and sitting out a year when he could stay for another year, graduate, transfer, and play right away if AJ comes back for his senior year.

Makes sense to me to stay here for another year and if AJ gets hurt or goes pro, then you've got the job here. If not, transfer and play right away.

True. If Ely is as bad as some of the reports have indicated, then I've gotta believe that PS>>>>PE

I hated Wilson, but if the reports are right, I'd rather have JPW than ely.

Ely actually drew some praise on the 1st scrimmage with some decent stats, nothing to go by on this one other than the opinion I posted earlier from god knows who...

It's true you never really know, but I've seen a few different people now who have posted info from someone who observed practice at the coaching clinic or watched a scrimmage who stated that Ely was terrible. Ftr, I'm hoping those people are wrong and Ely turns out to at least be a good game manager for us, but I'm slowly losing hope.

There have been many QBs to come through the SEC who were a lot worse than JPW. He was fine with a good OL and run game.

Probably not many who have been bigger douchebags though.

I think we can all agree that Brodie Croyle gets points just for his name being "Brodie".

Alec Morris will only be a TF coming in, but from what I've heard he is leaps and bounds talent wise better than Ely right now and a lot bigger than Brodie, or McElroy ever was their whole careers at Bama. He's the answer after AJ, and he is already a fav of Nuss after his OV weekend, Nuss was floored by how cerebral he was watching Bama film and dissecting and how impressive his own game tape was. He is the guy, sorry to say that and down Sims but it is the truth

Something posted on BOL regarding a 2014 All-American DE Da'Shawn Hand and Bama. Could someone tell me what it says? TIA.

Just spoke with Class of 2014 All-American defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand (Woodbridge, Va.). He's up to 20-plus offers including Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, South Florida, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.

Hand told me he isn't talking about schools, favorites- really any impressions of any colleges- until his junior year of high school starts (smart kid). He did say he's looked into the academic programs of each school that has offered him, but that's it. He's also not going to any junior days or anything until his junior year.

One thing he did tell me though- was that he plans to camp at Alabama this summer. That's the only college camp he currently is planning on attending (though Virginia Tech is trying to get him to come over for theirs) at this point.

Lance Thompson is recruiting Hand, who recently measured in at 6-foot-5, 247 pounds, and called the school to say the Tide intended to offer in March.

Hand was a 247Sports All-American and is one of three potential five-star prospects in Virginia for 2014.

Anyone that wants Phillip Sims gone is a fricking idiot. He and AJ were neck and neck going into last season, and many thought that he perforned better last spring, me included. Don't get me wrong, I like what AJ brings to the table, but physically Phillip is better. He has better mechanics and a stronger arm. AJ has confidence now and he should, but don't ever discount Sims ability.

He will do great things at Bama if given a shot.
