Rumor: Mike Bowman to Alabama State

Four-star Cooper Bateman visited Alabama over the weekend.
Three-star Mitch Trubisky will visit for A-Day.

I'm thinking Conner Mitch
I hope not, especially after I bashed LSU fans for being all hyped about him.

I only read the first page of the I just had an informal meeting with a St. Aug coach thread, but there was some great stuff in there as well. Thankfully it was just an informal meeting and BigEd can't bring the hammer down on us.

Apr 411:12AM ETEmailPrintComments0By Greg OstendorfTideNation recruiting writer Greg Ostendorf brings you the first edition of The O-Zone, a confidential look inside Alabama recruiting. Get the latest updates from the gridiron and the hardwood as it pertains to the Crimson Tide.
In this week’s update:
•Hoops star set to visit Alabama
•Where’s the No. 1 prospect leaning?
•Tide’s QB search for 2013
•UA looking to land another RB
•And more ...
Pollard to visit, down to two?
The biggest visitor to step foot on campus this weekend will be hosted by UA basketball coach Anthony Grant, not Nick Saban, as ESPNU 100 forward Devonta Pollard is set to take his official visit to Alabama. The Mississippi native has visited Tuscaloosa over a dozen times, but this could be the trip that puts the Crimson Tide over the top. Pollard recently eliminated Mississippi State after former head coach Rick Stansbury stepped down. He’s trimmed his list to Alabama, Georgetown, Missouri and Texas, but sources have told TideNation it’s a two-horse race between the Tide and the Hoyas. He’s expected to visit Georgetown next weekend before making a final decision.
MSU hoops signee considering Tide
Pollard wasn’t the only recruit who was affected by Stansbury’s decision to step down. Six-foot-9 big man Gavin Ware, who signed with Mississippi State in the early signing period, is reconsidering his decision after the recent coaching change. Ware plans to spend this week talking with his family and coaches before making any kind of decision. If he chooses to opt out of his scholarship, sources believe he wants to remain in the SEC, and Alabama could be a factor in his decision. The UA staff was high on Ware before he chose Mississippi State, and he and Pollard have expressed interest in playing together at the next level.
Where’s Nkemdiche leaning?
There hasn’t been a lot of new news recently surrounding the nation’s No. 1 prospect, Robert Nkemdiche. After a visit to LSU two weeks ago, the Tigers were said to be the new leader. There have also been reports that Ole Miss is a threat because his brother plays for the Rebels. Clemson and Georgia may be a factor in his decision as well. However, TideNation believes Alabama is still the team to beat for the five-star prospect. The Crimson Tide have been the frontrunner throughout much of the process and nothing has indicated that's changed. Read why Alabama makes the most sense. At this point, Nkemdiche plans to make his commitment on May 18 and put his recruitment behind him.
Could Foster move back to Alabama?
It looks more and more like Alabama commitment Reuben Foster is going to transfer high schools before his senior year. The five-star linebacker wants to go to a school where he can graduate early so he can enroll at UA in January. He recently talked about the decision process and how difficult it’s been on him. Click here for more. TideNation has learned that Foster’s mother has already applied for jobs in Oxford, Ala., and Carrollton, Ga., making Oxford High School and Carrollton High School two likely destinations for where he may wind up. Foster grew up in Roanoke, Ala., playing against fellow UA commit Bradley Bozeman.
The search for a quarterback
The nation’s top quarterback Max Browne is set to make his decision Wednesday at 10 p.m., CT, and it looks like his relationship with UA offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier wasn’t enough for the Crimson Tide to land Browne. According to sources, it’s down to Oklahoma and USC for his services, and USC is the odds-on favorite. Alabama still has a lot of potential options at quarterback. Utah native Cooper Bateman visited Tuscaloosa over the weekend and the trip was said to have gone well. Connor Mitch was recently offered by the Tide, and he’s expected to visit next weekend for A-Day. The UA coaching staff was also impressed with St. Thomas Aquinas signal-caller John O’Korn, who came up to Tuscaloosa this past weekend as well. Expect Alabama to wait and bring in all of the quarterbacks for camp this summer to compete against each other before taking a commitment.
Tide looking for a third back in 2013
Alabama already has commitments from ESPNU 150 Watch List running backs Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones, but the UA coaching staff is showing interest in a pair of smaller, faster backs. Norcross, Ga., running back Alvin Kamara is the recruit known for receiving 105 letters in one day from Alabama. He was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend and watched the Tide practice on Monday. He’s already talked about making a return trip for A-Day. On Tuesday, Alabama offered Florida running back Ryan Green, another back known for his speed. Click here for the story. Both Kamara and Green could bring a different dimension to the Tide’s offense and both could be used in a variety of ways.
Scarbrough going both ways
As a sophomore, Bo Scarbrough made a case for the best running back in the state before tearing his ACL towards the end of the year. The question is at 6-2, 220, can he outgrow the position if he adds on a few more inches? This year, Northridge head coach Mike Smith wants to use his star player on the defensive side of the ball as well. The plan is for Scarbrough to rush the quarterback in passing situations from defensive end. He’s excited about the opportunity to go out and hit somebody. “If they hit me, I want to hit them back,” he said. As for the injury, Scarbrough said he feels like he’s back to 100 percent, and at a recent camp he looked to be fully healthy, running a 4.5 second 40-yard dash. He’s still working out in the pool twice a week in an effort to rehab his injured knee.

Scarbrough as a pass rusher? That could work, but I still like him at WR

Welp, my confidence Scarborough would end up at WR after outgrowing RB went down, and the chance he grows into a LB goes up. He's gonna do fantastic rushing the passer and he will be considered there by several colleges.
Bo + Fournette = Beastly HS RBs who play LB in college?

Hubbard, DePriest, Johnson, and Atchinson... How could CJ Moseley not start somewhere in there?
