No offense in this, but these seem like very pedestrian numbers. Was it 1s v 1s?

If you go back and look at stats from scrimmages over the last 3+ years, the rushing stats were meager almost every time. It used to worry me a little bit, but I've learned that it's not an indication of weakness in the running game.

Fair enough. I will obviously not look it up to confirm.

But it does make plenty of sense. Spring games are pretty much worthless, IMO, anyways.

Not that it needs to be said in this thread, but Cam Newton did not impress anyone in Auburn's 2010 A-Day game.

You have to account the goal line work also, which will bring down the average a bit.

Do not disagree with that.

Karl Malone Jr committed to LSU today. I know Bama was recruiting him but not sure if his offer was committable.

Bravo to those ITT who provided the scrimmage updates. Came back from a brewery tour, and I was hoping this would be on here.

Thanks fellas.

I remember hearing about him connected to Bama like in November, then never heard a thing about him again. I was expecting him to be this national prospect since it seems like it was a big deal then.

Not knocking him, as I've seen some of his highlights. He's bowling people over...

I'm excited about this one

Three bananas are reserved for Nkemdiche. Regardless of who he picks, because that circus will be over.

He plays against bums; he's hard to evaluate.

Good pick up for LSU. I think we're probably done with interior OL in this class.

Has Yeldon's injury been discovered for sure yet? Wrist, forearm, thumb?

He carried the ball 10+ times today. I don't imagine it's serious whatever it is.

I would hope not, but I also read that he had the black jersey on which signals no contact for Bama players...

As for todays scrimmage:

-Very pleased with Deion Belue. He could be the next great corner for Alabama. I really hate it that he had to miss his first two years by going the JUCO route.

-I know we were missing our leading returning rusher, but I was really impressed with the defenses run stopping ability, especially considering all the starters in the front 7 we lost.

-Really pleased with Cody Mandell. 10 punts for an average over 42 yards a kick.

-Christion Jones is turning out to be a steal.

-Vinnie Sunseri is a beast. How he was only rated a 3-star player is baffling.

-AJ will be the best QB Alabama has ever had, if he stays for his senior year.

-I feel much better going into next season then I did going into 2010. I hope these players learned a valuable lesson from that experience.

-I was really happy that Ely performed well. I really wish Sims was able to play full strength, but I'm glad the staff decided to hold him back. I hope he stays, a la DJ Shockley when David Greene was at Georgia. Don't forget that Shockley waited his turn and led Georgia to a SEC title in his one year as the starter.

Well with Lacy and Sims out, I think the staff was just being careful so we can finish out the spring with a decent crew at RB. We still have two weeks of practice left and two scrimmages.

That makes sense. Did Fowler also go out with an injury?

Anyone else think whether it be this season or next AJ is going to be the first Bama QB to pass for 3000 yards? He'll have so many weapons in the passing game. Maybe Duron Carter, Chris Black, Amari Cooper, our H-backs are always good, DeAndrew White, Kenny Bell, Eddie Willaims, CJ, Dee Hart, and Yeldon.
