He's not really a great recruiter, but he did well with the Oline last year
He hasn't had as much responsibility at Alabama (I think we know why). However, he was a great recruiter at Miami. He was their lead recruiter for the Northeast, as well as the Miami area.

Anybody see this tweet from Crimson Confidential?
Think they meant Trey DePriest? I know that was a rumor floating around a couple weeks ago, but Faciane? Doesn't really make sense to me.

It would have to be DePriest. I can't imagine why a kid from Mississippi who is going to be a blocking TE would want to transfer to Ohio to play for a coach who doesn't use blocking TEs in his offense.
Losing DePriest would suck though. He's going to be really really good.

There's a massive difference in Alabama continuing to be pro-active, in protecting itself against potential problems, and blatantly accusing him of recruiting transgressions.

The fact that the Trey Depriest rumor floated around for a week, and now they're hinging Malcolm Faciane's name to it, just leads me to believe they're selling subscriptions. He's from Picayune, Mississippi for Christ's sake.

Wasnt the DePriest stuff pretty much squashed a few weeks ago?

Dial came to Alabama from JuCo at 315 pounds. Fanning came to Alabama as a 270 pound freshman. While Dial has slimmed down, I don't think he's slimmed down that much. True, Fanning has bulked up, but I don't think he's put on more than 25 pounds in seven months.

If his grandmother was as ill as the rumor suggested, and he intended to be closer to home, he would have never returned for the spring semester. I'm not sure why this rumor continues to persist. And now it's involved with a player that has no ties to the region. Malcolm Faciane is set to take over the role of blocking TE in 2013.

One reason I question it is because whoever tweeted seems excited that he is transferring. It's way out of context to me. That's like saying "What did RN say about LSU?? Find out soon!!"
There will be a thread on the LSUrb tomorrow about the last part

either way he looks beastly. all the lineman on both sides of the ball are huge. even the small guys are really big. Anthony Orr is the smallest at 6'4" 258, followed by Wilson Love at 6'3" 281. The biggest are Alphonse Tayler at 6'5" 340, DJ Fluker 6'6" 335, and CyKO at 6'6" 311

I'm still surprised that Kellen Williams is at LT. I thought his height would keep him inside, but Alfred McCullough played OT.
It's good to see Issac Luatua is coming along so fast. I thought he might be another year away from contributing.
It looks like my boy Ed Stinson is getting pushed by D.J. Pettway.
A 6-6 SAM LB? I know Adrian Hubbard played some here in 2011, but I thought it was a special pass rushing package. That will be interesting.

They were looking high and low for a backup LT, and it also helps KW become a more versatile backup. I've heard his name, Shepherd's, and Kelly's name as different types of 6th lineman. KW everywhere, AS as the top backup at both Tackles spots, and Kelly inside.

From that same post, Coach Thompson considers SAM and JACK mirror positions, with SAM with a little more coverage ability/responsibility.
