January and February were busy months for Norcross (Ga.) running back Alvin Kamara, as the top 100 prospect accumulated double-digit offers and visited a number of schools throughout the Southeast. The 5-foot-10, 195-pounder has been taking things relatively easy for the past few weeks, but plans to get back on the road, beginning this weekend.
“I haven’t been able to go anywhere since the last trip to Georgia. This weekend, I’m thinking about going back to Georgia because I think they’re having a scrimmage on Saturday,” he said.
Kamara keeps in touch with Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart and is eyeing one, if not two, visits to the Capstone in the coming weeks.
“Me and Coach Smart are real cool. I mean he’s the first coach to start recruiting me. He gave me his card way back last year, so me and him are real close. We just talk about anything, really. I’m looking forward to getting back up there, seeing those guys, and meeting with Coach (Nick) Saban again.
“I think I’m going to make it for their spring game. We get out for spring break on Thursday, so I’m thinking about going there sometime next week, as well. I’m thinking about going to Florida- their spring game is on April 7.”
The top 100 back singled out four schools that he communicates with the most.
“I’ve been talking with Alabama still, Georgia, Tennessee, and USC (Southern Cal) a lot. I don’t really have a top or any favorites. Those are the ones that are talking to me the most and giving me the most attention. That’s not a sacred list, just the schools that I’m in contact with on a consistent basis.
“I don’t have a time mapped out for when I’m going to commit, but I’m already getting a feeling for some of the schools that have offered that I’m not going to go to. It’s just going to be whatever it feels like.”
The metro Atlanta resident is versatile enough to play slot wide receiver in addition to running back and is open to the idea of playing both at the next level.
“For the most part, everyone is looking at me as a running back. I know Coach Saban told me I could come in and play the slot or play whatever position I want, really. If playing slot gets me more playing time, that would be good, whether it’s playing that for a year or whatever. Florida has mentioned some stuff about slot, too. I’m sure every school would want to utilize that aspect of my game.”
Kamara contends that while he’ll look at the each program's projected depth chart at running back, it’s by no means a deal breaker.
“I’m going to look at it, of course. I don’t think anybody wouldn’t. It’s not going to deter me away from any school. That doesn’t really matter to me. I feel like if I go in and work, that I’m just as good or better than anyone in front of me.”
Some of the Peach State’s top committed prospects are staying in Kamara’s ear about following suit and pledging to their respective schools.
“Reuben Foster- me and him stay in touch. Also Shaq Wiggins and Tray Matthews- all of them are trying to recruit me for their schools. Reuben always tells me to go ahead and commit to Alabama and the same with Shaq and Tray for Georgia.”
Kamara has a grade of 95 from 247Sports and is ranked as the no. 7 running back prospect in the nation

Lemont (Ill.) Township offensive tackle and future Under Armour All-American Ethan Pocic continued his Southeast tour over spring break with a visit to Alabama on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7, 280-pound Pocic didn’t walk away empty handed, leaving with an offer from head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.
“It was pretty crazy,” Pocic said shortly after leaving Tuscaloosa. “They stand in my top. I feel like I’d fit in there and they win ball games and I liked the campus.”
Other programs Pocic is still currently considering is Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Notre Dame, USC and Oklahoma. He feels honored to land an offer from Saban.
“It was crazy,” Pocic said. “We just talked football.”
Pocic didn’t get to see a spring practice but he sat in on Alabama’s meetings. He liked what he saw from offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
“He seems like a straight-forward dude,” Pocic said.
Ranked as the nation's No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 60 prospect overall, Pocic has already visited Florida, Florida State and Auburn this week, and he heads to Tennessee on Wednesday. He’d like to make a college decision before the start of his senior season.

OT?
From the upper Midwest?
Michigan lock. He is going to play the LLT position (Left of Left Tackle) in Hoke's new 10 OT formation.

No shite. Michigan has taken like 56 OT's since last year.

His bro knows WHAT TIME IT IS!!
I was told we were way back for Pocic, after today's visit, like Dodd is a possible commit watch in the next few days

Before today's visit he had a top 12 that didn't even include Bama. Those comments are encouraging but I doubt he will commit to us in the next few days. Extremely difficult to get OL from the Midwest this year.

before his visit we had ground to make up with him, now his visit went so well he is a "commit watch" the way I told you guys about Dodd after he gets home.
Might soon land 1 of our OT's

I doubt Pocic does anything too sudden

Good job on the Dodd call. But this one seems a little different. Dodd had us in his top 2 before his visit and Pocic didn't even have us in his top 12. I think the visit definitely helped, but I would be very surprised if he were to commit to us soon. Really hope I'm wrong but that's just the way I see it.

Picking up Pocic would be huge for us. Would love to be able to add him to the mix at some point. What's the latest word on Santa Marina?

May be waiting too long, but I'm sure the longer he waits the better it is for LSU, just not sure how serious LSU is about him. We are still in good shape
but you take Pocic no matter who is on the board IMHO, he's a beast
