It's good to know that John Diarse is now "the best in Louisiana".

Since when? I still think Williams is better and that Diarse might have peaked in HS.

I was just glancing at the LSU Recruiting Board.

A lot of people have felt this way. Some disagree as to whether he's the best "prospect" but there is no doubt he's one of the top players in the state.

There just seemed to be a lot of sentiment that he was "overrated" when he had nice things to say about Alabama several weeks ago.

Some people were worried about his measurables but with his offer list, those concerns are ill-founded. Nobody was claiming that Collins was overrated so the fact some said that about Diarse just because he was interested in Alabama really cuts against your little point.

You seem mad. My point is valid. Your recruiting board lashed out against him when it looked like he was seriously wanting to commit to Alabama in February.

Why would I be mad, he committed to us?

My point is that those feelings weren't simply because he was considering Alabama. And my case in point was Collins. Even after he committed, nobody denied the fact that he was the best player in the state. Some people still don't think he's the best player in the state just because he committed to us. Others do. It is what it is.

I know right? One is a WR and the other a safety. One will be eligible and the other will result in vacated wins down the road.

You're better than this Memphis.

By the way, I went to the Memphis Zoo Wednesday and it was severely overrated. What gives?

You don't like Pandas?

Go in the early summer or late spring. It's great on a nice sunny/warm season.

They are building yet another exhibit here soon, but the details haven't been released.

I haven't been since 08 tbh. Do they still have the hippos and elephants in those shitty concrete exhibits?

What did you not like?

Bama is interested in '13 Archbishop Carroll(FL) CB Leroy Clark. Saban has watched his film and is planning on talking to him Monday per his HC.

From Charles Power

quote:

Per Josh Newberg of Noles247, UA has offered five-star Tampa (Fla.) Wharton CB Vernon Hargreaves III. Hargreaves spoke with head coach Nick Saban last week and plans on visiting UA this summer with is mom and dad. He's ranked as the no. 3 prospect in the nation and the no. 1 prospect in Florida. His father, Vernon, is an assistant coach at USF.

And this is in the same thread from Newberg

quote:

I've known Vernon Hargreaves and his father (DE's coach for USF) for almost three years. It's a very odd dynamic you have here. On one-hand his dad is a coach on Skip Holtz's staff and anytime you have a local kid you want to keep them home. Obviously it's Coach Hargreaves job to help land the top local prospect.

...on the other hand coach Hargreaves is a father. He wants to do what's best for his son. If Hargreaves didn't coach at USF they would not be in the picture. It's a unique situation being able to be coached by your father. However, you have to understand USF is not a school that assistant coaches stay at for very long. It's a launching pad for coaches.

So by the time Vernon Hargreaves graduates high school his father will have been at USF for 3 years. By the time "Little V" graduates college, it will mean his dad will have been there for 7 years. How many coaches stay on as an assistant at USF for 7 years? Not many.

I'll have Vernon's thoughts on the Alabama offer in our story tomorrow. The biggest reason that I think Bama is in the mix is because Vernon wants to play for a winner. Hargreaves makes no apology that he wants to play for a winner. He's a great player that demands a lot of himself and others, and says he wants to surround himself with great players.

Coming off of a National Title, Alabama is the type of team that Hargreaves wants to play for....but the question is, will he leave Tampa and his father?
