What are the MSU faithful feeling about this? Don't know much about him.

Really the best and smartest move they could've made at this point.

Now promote Spurrier Jr. to OC and bring in a DC from the Leach coaching tree that also shares in the same vision, and there will be some stability to work from

That's some tough shoes to follow. I don't envy him in that regard.

This is probably in the best interests of the players at least. I hope it works out for y'all.

It's an unusual scenario. Maybe the thinking is that he can keep the program going that Leach was working toward since he's been with Leach the past three years and knows the plan. I'm a long time older State alum BTW. Normally an AD would be hired first but it ain't a normal time.

If we drag it out in search of a HC we will lose our recruiting class and have a ton enter the portal due to uncertainty

This way we keep our players by keeping the staff they’re used to. Arnett has been a great DC. Our defense played consistently well every game, it was the offense that was hit or miss. I think Arnett can get it done with a good OC

I hope this works out, but I’m pretty skeptical for the long run. It’s a hard decision to criticize though—not a lot of good paths to take here.

I like this. He's got a very good defensive mind. If he can find a young, whippersnapper OC, they won't miss a beat. Still can't believe Leach is gone. I still remember his stint at Kentucky like it's yesterday. That great (for Kentucky) game at Tiger Stadium in 1998 in the Lou Tepper era for LSU. We scored two fourth quarter TDs to tie it only to have them drive right down the field and kick the game winner.
