LSU starts hot and then Lane leaks rumors about interest from the Dallas Cowboys, derailing the season.

Ole Miss goes 10-2 & makes another playoff run.

Vandy goes 9-3 proving they were more than the mini QB.

Bama goes 8-4 and the Dabo era begins.

SC fires Beamer in the tunnel after the Clemson game.

You’re going to see mid season upheaval at one of the bigger programs related to delinquent payments on what was promised.

Key players will hold out from a playoff contender. It will dominate the CFB news cycle but be a necessary evil that eventually leads to the desperately needed guard rails.

For us it will all come down to QB play

Either Reed progresses and we have another solid year or he looks mediocre and we go 7-5

LSU loses in Oxford, goes 10-2.

LSU will then host Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night in the CFP for a rematch and beat them by 5 TDs.

More of a pipe dream than "hot take"

so we only won because Brent Vernables has never heard of injuries and/or simply can't put a decent offense on the field? Lol

Yeah that's pretty much it, actually.

Alabama remains where they have been the last two years - contending for a spot in the CFP and for the SEC title. We may not necessarily win either, but we won't take a step back.

Things on the Plains are way too quiet for my liking. They are due for one of those, "BAH GAWD THAT'S AUBURN'S MUSIC!!!!" years where they come out of nowhere to be one of the better teams in the conference. The Iron Bowl will be played for a spot in the SECCG.

Kiffin underwhelms at LSU. Meanwhile Ole Miss continues to roll under Golding. At least this is what I hope happens because it would maximize the entertainment value of this board.

Tennessee underperforms (again) and Heupel's seat begins to really heat up.

Ohio State takes a step back. Michigan takes a step forward. Indiana is good but not what they have been the past couple of years. Penn State wins the B1G.

Franklin wins the ACC at Virginia Tech as Clemson continues to tumble.

JT, the OM fans want this to happen so bad, but they know what LK did at OM and are terrified of what he will do at LSU.

Name the 6 losses.

Vols lose to:
Texas
Arkansas
South Carolina
Aggies
LSU

Auburn is 50/50.

However Heupel continues to beat Bama at home and saves his job. He enters 2027 with the hottest SEC seat

Texas L
Arkansas W
South Carolina W
Aggies L
LSU W

Auburn is 50/50.W

4-2 in those games. George MacIntyre is the key. If he plays to his talent level, they could win all 6. If he blows up, you might be right and they may lose all 6.

Defense will be vastly improved this year. Jim Knowles won't have a "let them score and we get the ball back" defense.
Banks' schemes were awful.
Martinez is gone. Defensive backs will actually turn and look for the ball.

Reports are that Gmac cant even distance himself from Faizon in Spring Ball. Heupel has never won on the road against Arkansas or South Carolina so dont get your hopes up about those games.

Defense will be improved but Chaz Coleman about to quit the team before summer has even started. The defensive improvement wont be enough to rely on to win games.

Texas
South Carolina
Auburn
Aggies
LSU

All will have better QB play than Tennessee this year. It could get rough given that Heupels program is built around good edge rusher and QB play and we have enormous question marks at those positions this year.

Deboer out mid season. Bama irrelevant.

Four SEC teams in CFP will be Texas, LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss.

Florida wins a close game in Atlanta over Georgia but does nothing else with 4 losses.

Georgia only has 1 loss. LSU beats Texas in Baton Rouge. Texas beats LSU in SECCG.

Texas loses first playoff game after bye.

All SEC national championship. Georgia vs. LSU

Yeah that long streak of 2 years, FINALLY.

UGA has accomplished a heckuva lot more in those 2 years than Bammer has accomplished, which uh, is absolutely nothing.

I get some of the animosity towards Sark, but not all of it. I don’t think he has to be an elite level coach for us to win the title this year. I really like the portal acquisitions and the coaching changes. We are going to win the title this year, maybe even in spite of a few things. I see an elite and hungry roster with good leadership and culture players and a staff that can take them there.

I actually think it’s going to mirror Ohio State from two years ago a lot. The schedule is challenging and we may drop two games - but playoff time this team is going to be scary and very locked in. What will Sark do after the Manning era and beyond? Hard to say.
I am realistic and critical and I think it aligns this next season. We’ve been a play away from the CFP title game two years in a row prior to last year and those teams had some flaws. If we don’t enter injury hell and don’t shoot ourselves in the foot I just see it being difficult for this team to lose at the end.
