Having said that, I think people need to understand this shite is real and LSU could be kicked out of the league in less than 48 hours. I hope it doesn’t come to that and cooler heads prevail.

So, while I doubt the conference expels LSU, I’d not be surprised if they instead levy monetary penalties to the LSU program and suspend Kiffin, and possibly the AD, for a portion, or maybe the entirety, of the season.

Read this and think about the mentality of the person who would write it:
Like a grab bag of random grievances and resentments, all irrational and none having to do with any true issue that is germane to the issue at hand.
And yet-every second year for the last quarter century-the tailgate I am a part of-has hosted dozens of Ole Miss fans-win or lose-and with friendship. .
It's a legit LESSON in the ugliness that people on this board have.

Get ready for the rest of the universities to be paying for LSU's athletic dept for years to come. You'll get sued into oblivion for punishing anyone that hasn't broken a single rule but instead just because you don't like them.

It doesn’t matter how scummy the business someone is in actually is, if someone working in it marches up and tells the boss in front of the world “frick you, you aren’t the boss of me, you can’t tell me what to do” they will be canned. It has nothing to do with how scummy or pristine the business is.
So many LSU fans last week said they were willing to burn the SEC down to get their way. The problem for LSU is that LSU’s leaders Landry, Murrill, Rousse, Ausberry, Kiffin and Wade have echoed those sentiments.
This is not about two players. It is about LSU signaling that they will destroy the SEC if that is what it takes to win.

Man I just couldn’t disagree more. Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee “identities” are fairly homogenous.
Louisiana and the people ARE different, and not in a bad way if you’ve ever actually gotten to know any. Type of people who would give you the shirt off their back and a real meal if needed. I was lucky enough to go to school there and now have in-laws in S. Louisiana.

That isn't what happened at all. If Lane had rostered the players, it would be more like what you described.
What actually happened is Lane said through actions and words, "I don't agree, but we're following the rules."

It’s the hubris. The arrogance from a school (without “stellar” academics) that acts like they’re the center of the universe. The obnoxious fan base. The inhospitable reputation.
Add in Louisiana’s political and economic corruption and dysfunction, and LSU has built the perfect recipe for being universally disliked.

Again, unlike most here, I’m not saying things because I wish they’ll happen, rather because I’m looking at this matter from a logical and unbiased standpoint and starting only things I think will happen.
Having said that, I believe they will cite what they’ve described as “lack of institutional control” as the basis for whatever punishment is coming. Why else would they include that phrase in the amendment to the federal lawsuit they’ve filed in Bham?

Historically LSU is probably my favorite SEC team other than Florida.
We've had a great series the last few decades, enjoyable games.
But the last few weeks a whole lot of you are not living in reality.
You went from bragging about signing pros and there was nothing the SEC could do about it. Gloating when you got the TRO. Then suddenly doing the "Kiffin would always follow the rules!" narrative.
Now at 1-0 some of you think you're the greatest team to ever touch turf and the SEC is trying to kick you out because you're too amazing.
I think some self reflection is in order.
That said I've seen more rational perspectives the last few days from some of you.

This is what this is all about. This is about the SEC voting 15-0 to not allow NFL rostered players into the SEC, and LSU flipping the SEC (and the other member institutions) the finger in a very public manor, going through with their court hearing in Baton Rouge in defiance of the 15-0 vote, and then Lane saying they are keeping roster spots open incase they decide to add them at a later date.
This has nothing to do with some perceived NCAA rule violation, it has everything to do with LSU defying the will of the other 15 member institutions in a very public way at a time when the SEC is trying everything it can to establish some ability to govern itself. The last thing the conference needed was one of it's member institutions to take the conference to court and try to submarine those efforts over 2 NFL players.

Literally none of this happened. We questioned the “signing pros” portion of the rule when several other teams had “pros” on them currently. We then stated that he said he “would follow the rules” because that was exactly what he said. He’s never wavered in this. Thirdly because we were excited about our game it became “we think he’s the best thing ever”. We were literally excited because we played lights out. You’re over stating it on all fronts.

It doesn’t matter what the rant thinks. It matters what the voting members of the SEC think. And most of them feel Landry, Rousse and Kiffin openly defied them. Kiffin intentional stating he would follow the court order, even if it was in conflict with SEC rules was not in LSU’s favor. Waiting until 9 pm to find out via ESPN was not in LSU’s favor. Neither was the quip at halftime. Neither are the messages that the SEC supposedly has that show this was a scheme that involved more than Kiffin.
It seems likely that LSU has about 40 hours left to enjoy being in the SEC.
If you are going to take a shot at the king, you better not miss.
I think that the powers that be at LSU miscalculated badly.
Or maybe this is what Landry wanted. If LSU gets expelled it will unite the voters of Louisiana against a common foe, and Landry can try to present himself as the defender of LSU and Louisiana. Even though he was responsible. Politics 101, create a problem so you can solve it.
