You get a 3.0 at UTSA or Texas State and you’re in at Texas.
What about Vandy?

DEI / woke is over. Sorry.

Now that’s just a stupid statement.

Nope. A sociology degree from Vandy and Texas will still have you slinging coffee at Starbucks.
An engineering degree from just about any college will get you a job.

Um..you know Florida is ranked ahead of Texas or tied....right?
Vanderbilt University (#17): The only private university in the conference, located in Nashville, Tennessee.
University of Florida (#30): Located in Gainesville, Florida, consistently rated one of the best public universities in the country.
University of Texas at Austin (#30): Joined the SEC in 2024, boasting elite business and engineering programs
17 and 30 are not very far apart academically btw. You def are not Harvard or Yale.

Unless you’re a bama grad then the SEC will hire you to work in the league office or as an official

Art History degree from Vandy.
Accounting degree from ANY of the other SEC schools.
Who gets hired?
It’s all about the degree!

I have an engineer with a degree from Vanderbilt that works 3 levels below me, and he is getting laid off next week because he sucks. He doesn't know he is getting fired yet.
Got a few Tulane and Mizzou grads that don't know shite either that will be getting cut.

I graduated in mechanical engineering.
I hard multiple job offers to choose from in fall, I didn’t graduate until May.
I signed an offer letter more than 6 months before graduation.
What school is on your degree means far less than the major. Provided it’s an accredited school, of course.

About the same, you'd probably need a 3.0 or better at Vandy if you want to get in at Texas.

That is very important. I mean, most Universities range by the subject.
