95 Nebraska was gimmicky offense for it's day. Mobile QB's just weren't the norm. Watching Nebraska struggle against Washington State that year was painful.

Saying 95 Nebraska is better than 2019 LSU is just someone going with the status quo. LSU's players are bigger, stronger, faster, and more athletic than that NE team. It's just a different game, and LSU still won 25% more games in the season...including absolute domination through a conference championship and playoff.

Nobody can objectively say otherwise.

2 more minutes would have stopped LSU from kneeling the ball to end the game.

Yeah, I guess they forgot LSU had the ball with a 1st down on the bama 37 when they took the victory formation.

OMG... what are you talking about?

It wasn't a gimmick. It was ingenious. He gets no credit, but what he was running was the introduction of a spread offense. It hadn't been seen before and was damn near unstoppable with the talent he had in the backfield.

As for the Wazzu game, it was a two score game at the end. But, Nebraska dominated it like all others.

They took a 28-7 lead into the 4th qtr; they had a 35-14 lead late into the 4th before a long pass play to get the Cougs within 2 scores.

Nebraska rushed for 428 yds and threw for 99 more. And, Wazzu had a top 10 rush D going into that game.

Wazzu had 278 in the air (with a 54% completion rate) and only managed 78 on the ground

Nebraska had 27 first downs to Wazzu's 17. The huskers dominated time of possession and just punched the Cougars in the face ALL game long.

The only thing that kept the game remotely close were 3 lost fumbles by Nebraska and getting a bit complacent on D with a big lead late in the game.

But when LSU came out complacent after halftime up 20 it was just a sign of Bama’s greatness amirite???

I have never been in the Bama almost won camp.

Bama played a very good second half. They made great adjustments and showed a lot of heart to get to a respectable finish.

That said, a 2-time national champ up 3 scores at home vs. a 2-1 Mike Price coached Wazzu (who would end up 3-8) is a very different type of complacency than a top 5 match-up against the winner of 5 of the last 10 NCs, in an away game, on an 8 game losing skid in what has been the #1 or #2 most heated matchup in the SEC west for a decade.

A 100% healthy Alabama 2019 can beat that LSU team, I stand by that.

Tua lit them up in the second half on a bad wheel. But that wasn't so much the issue as the defense, and the issue there was LB play.

Give me my senior ILB's, and LaBryan Ray to help rush Burrow, plus the regular kicker, and a 100% Tua in that game, and that team can beat your GOAT.LSU's defense in the second half could not stop Alabama, and ONE stop by Bama in that game would have made the difference.

That isn't so far fetched as pulling some dream team out of the past, that's just LSU playing the Alabama team they should have played.

Yeah, Burrow totally struggled with pass rushes.

He would’ve figured out your best guys. I know it’s hard for y’all to grasp but Burrow put together the single best season in the history of the sport. Dylan Moses and Josh fricking McMillon weren’t going to stop him from torching Diggs, Surtain and Carter.

I wouldn’t call the quick snap td while our freshman DB wasnt looking while getting a defense call from the sideline and a busted coverage at the end of the game ‘lighting it up’
More of a fluke than anything.

And Bama showed no signs of stopping our O, could have easily ran in another score at the end of the game instead of taking knees....

That is 3-8 Washington State?

What did they finish in the Pac 10?

Pac 10 in those days was a throwing league, not a running league.

A 100% healthy Alabama can beat an LSU team that had 4 starters out? Congratulations?

plus the regular kicker

Your "regular kicker" had a 20% worse field goal make percentage than his replacement.

quote:

100% Tua in that game

Give me one play in that game where his "injury" limited him, even Saban said Tua was maybe 90%.

And again, the LSU team you played had 4 starters out.

Muh injuries!

Tuna had to have hurt his:

Elbow
Or
Wrist
Or
Pinky finger

To cause him to look like garo yepremian.

Weird how he was "on one leg" and all but tries to run for a touchdown right out of the gate.

Especially when he hasn't historically relied on rushing much in his career and had 4 future NFL receivers.

No reason to try to run if you're "crippled" or "hobbled".
