Eh he won a national title in 1950. I’m sure he would’ve done just fine is he stayed at UK.

Does a Sagarin championship awarded decades later count?

Adding dog shite tier Arkansas.

I have to imagine they were added for the easy wins, simply no other reason to add those life losers.

Auburn had all FSU’s signals from Dameyune Craig and it went downhill for them after Kelvin Benjamin noticed and FSU started hiding them.

This is so silly.

The "Gold Cadillac" vs "Gold Lighter" was strictly a recruiting ploy to get the limited high school football talent in the State of Kentucky to go wherever Bear was coaching.

So “he got a Cadillac for winning the SEC and I got a watch” is not true?

I mean, he beat OU, who was the AP champion, in the bowl game. Any reasonable person would view that today as a national champion.

Sorry. Craig knew the signs and was too stupid to be subtle about it.

21-10 Auburn

Then Benjamin says “Dameyune calling all the plays”

After that, 24-10 FSU

The real reason GT left was greed. They did not like sharing bowl revenue with the other teams in the conference. Back in those days the bowl money was very significant and a big part of a school’s revenue. They thought they could be like Notre Dame and wing it on their own. Plus they would not play OM or State over the years because they refused to travel to MS to play those teams on the road.

So I have nothing for them and h**l will freeze over they are allowed back in.

Alabama tricking Bobby Bowden into a formal interview after the 1986 season. Bowden was a Birmingham native who dreamed of coaching Alabama and was the hottest coaching candidate in the country at the time.

I dunno.

The “hottest coaching candidate” just finished 7-4-1 and had no national titles to his name and was in Birmingham for the fricking Independence Bowl?

Bowden’s real success didn’t start until 1987, and I think most would agree that even though his program was consistently great in his prime that he had a tendency to lose big games.

I think if Bowden had gone to Bama in 1987 that he would have (like Curry) struggled with some really good Auburn teams in the late ‘80s that his established FSU teams barely beat. I don’t know that he would have been anymore successful in the 1990-1996 stretch than Stallings. The 1997-2006 years likely would have been better (if not a lot better) but that’s ten years down the road and more a result of bad hires than missing out on a great hire.

I’m not necessarily saying Bama wouldn’t have been better off with Bowden, but I don’t think he would have gone scorched Earth on CFB and that not getting him was a massive mistake.

It's basically universally accepted, outside of Tuscaloosa I guess.

That being said, losing Tulane and the Bumbles from the SEC was tragic as both made in state rival games, in conference games as well and both had good academics to bolster the educational side of the SEC.

I would argue that Tulane and Sewanee voluntarily leaving the SEC (although likely nudged out) was one of the best things to happen to this conference. Otherwise we are paying 3 Vanderbilts an even split of our pie instead of one. Wish Vandy would have joined them.

Yet she didn't have any injuries.

Allegedly her fiance beat the shite of Petrino and left her with him stranded.
