It has been a coaching carrousel with baseball. You mentioned the two football hires but don’t give them the credit for being as bad as they really were.
Both Muschamp and Beamer’s winning percentages are right on par with South Carolina’s historic winning percentage, and that includes the Spurrier years.
Those hires aren’t nearly as bad as you make them out to be. Beamer had South Carolina in the conversation for a playoff spot last season.
The only people who seem to think Ray Tanner is horrible are a handful of South Carolina fans. Most people don’t even realize he was South Carolina’s AD.

Evans and McGarity were cheap bastards for years keeping UGA from reaching it’s potential.
Evans was probably the most useless but at least McGarity fired Richt and hired Kirby, sort of forgives him for any previous malfeasance.

My vote goes with John Cohen and I'll tell you why.
Shooed away the greatest coach in Mississippi State History Vic Schaefer by refusing to invest in upgrades to Humphrey Coliseum until after he left. That put a strain on both Mens and Womens Basketball. That ultimately destroyed the WBB Program as a whole and prevented the MBB team from producing meaningful results.
Shooed away Dan Mullen by refusing to engage in contract extension negotiations. The good ole boys club got tired of having to extend contracts to coaches and Cohen admitted himself he decided in October that a change was going to have to be made in that 2017 season. He thought he could outsmart everyone and ended up with Joe Moorhead. Look at that record.
He went on a claim that he could hire the best baseball coach in school history after he hired Cannizaro who embarrsed the baseball program and almost tore down the whole thing. Luckily Mangum and crew prevented that. But the best he could hire was a no name Indiana Baseball coach. Selmon hired Brian O Connor proving that a non baseball AD can hire coaches better than the Baseball AD.
And you've now seen him preside over one of the worst periods in Auburn FB History.
He's the ultimate yes man cuck which is why he hired Freeze and will hire whoever they put on him. It's also telling that Jon Sumrall has been reported as preferring Ole Miss to Auburn. That's how much damage Cohen and Friends did to Auburn. But hey he claimed some titles!

Consolidate your Woodwards into one entry.
Then add Tanner
Then add Tanner

Let’s see, what did Ray do. Well…..
He effectively killed our dynasty program. His last hire was someone washed up one foot in the grave old geezer. The two coaches before that were a joke. You don’t hire a guy from South fricking Florida to come coach a fricking SEC dynasty.
He left us with no money and God only knows where it all went. We can’t even afford a measly $25 million buyout but yet teams write checks for $50 million like they’re nothing and then promise $16 mil per year on top of that to the next guy.
He said he wanted experience so he turned down Lincoln Riley for Muschamp. Then when he hired Beamer who had zero experience suddenly experience didn’t matter. He’s just a dumb MF’er. Oh and he gave raises and extensions for both Muschamp and Beamer who didn’t deserve them.
He couldn’t raise money if his life depended on it.
Men’s basketball program is a joke but I don’t really care about it anyways.

I'm not a huge fan of Hunter Yurachek, but you can't pin the Chad Morris hire on him.

Ray Tanner’s two football coaching hires were Will Muschamp and Shane Beamer.
He’s only interviewed 3 people for our HC position: Muschamp who no one wants, Napier who got canned, and Beamer who is a nepobaby nincompoop.
His baseball hires got progressively worse.
His basketball hires were meh.
It’s no coincidence that the best program we’ve had since 2012 was the one with a coach he didn’t hire - Dawn Staley.

2 pages and no Ross Bjork. Cmon.

I just remember Woodward giving that extension to Jimbo and even the Rah-rah press going "WTF?".
Coming out with that blank NC trophy ought to have him in someone's dumbfrick hall of fame.

A dynasty? Why are we just hearing about this?

You really are not coming off very smart in this thread.

Bockrath is in this? So, who’s 2nd place?

This is a long-winded way of saying, "I know nothing about the rest of the conference."
Tanner was handed Spurrier, Staley, Frank Martin, and a back-to-back NC baseball program.
In ten years, he royally fricked up the football replacement for Spurrier, by publicly getting rebuffed by Tom Herman. Then, while he's negotiating at Kirby Smart's house, he gets rugpulled by UGa. Tanner roams around, publicly interviewing and flirting with Wille Taggart and Rich Rodriguez before hiring Muschamp, who was a single year removed from being a dismal failure at UF. After Muschamp failed (and insulted the program in the interim), Tanner hires Beamer, without really looking at anyone else.
Staley, thankfully, has stayed.
Martin takes SC to the Final Four, a year after being the first team in SEC history to win 20+ games and getting snubbed from the tourney. Tanner was partially responsible for that snub, because he had no ability to lobby power. Instead, Vandy went to the tournament that year, with a literal 500 record. When Martin does get SC on the map, Tanner shits all over it by bungling the ceremonies so poorly that Martin complains in the press about a lack of institutional support (and he wasn't wrong). Enter Paris, who wasn't nearly ready for a job of this size after only 3 years at UTC. Last year's SC team was almost winless in conference (despite having an NBA lottery pick), and this year's team looks worse.
Finally, Tanner took a program that was rhe jewel of the AD in baseball, and through three head coaches has driven it into the dirt so dadgum far that I'm not sure it ever recovers.
Tanner is the worst AD, overall, in the history of the SEC, and I'm not sure it's close.

That was Ross Bjork.
Somehow, he didn't make this list.

Ross Bjork falling upward no matter what is the funniest AD story at least.
As an avid SEC fan, while Scott Woodward is almost surely the most overrated, I have to give the worst title to Ray Tanner. I sincerely feel terrible for South Carolina fans what that guy has done to the program.

I still don't understand why LSU fired Woodward if they are going to write another huge contract for Kiffin? Woodward is the best in the business at that, and now LSU is paying him a 6 milllion dollar buyout.
Hell we all forgot about Joe Alleva.

Woodward apparently didn’t want Lane Kiffin in 2022 and didn’t even want to consider him this round either. Hence the donors stepping in and shoving him in a locker.

I think Ai could do a far better job, punch in a roster grade and level of competition and it tell you how your coach did.
hire big titties blondes to fund raise, except for Tamu and Texas, where you use weird arse men.

I gotcha. Yeah Kiffin isn't a favorite among athletic directors I am sure.
Pretty sure Scott Stricklin will do a happy dance when he doesn't come to UF.
