They're both very good coordinators but that is yet to be seen. Lane took the number one defense and a senior QB and lost three games to inferior opponents one of them vastly so.

None of us know how this Lane situation will work out, and honestly I hope Ole Miss is good, because as an LSU fan I enjoy the Ole Miss games and want them to be competitive.

Another thing. He needs an elite support staff. He had an amazing staff with the AD and the Chancellor backing his every move and never told him no.
Now if LSU can do this, then you guys will be very successful. The only thing that we all look back on is the 2024 season. How he dropped that ball and the distractions he caused was mind numbing.

Was not my statement, it was your question "why did Saban not return to LSU after Les was fired".
And my opinion is LSU should not build a statue of a player or coach that made their true legacy with another school. I hate to say that because Saban did great things at LSU, but most of the population (outside of this board/region) does not know that Saban even coached at LSU

I agree Saban is a huge part of where LSU is, but let's say that Kiffin coached Ole Miss to a national Championship this past year, and then left after the season for LSU. Then goes on and wins 6 national championships at LSU, would Ole Miss build a statue of Kiffin? I understand the circumstances are a little different, but point is pretty similar.
