Why do Bama fans keep acting like they stopped us cold for three quarters?
If you go back and look at the game, our scoring slowed down primarily because their offense started moving the ball, not because they stopped us. After our first three scoring drives, we had the ball nine more times:
13 play, 62 yards: Drive ends on fourth down when Manziel mistakenly steps out a foot short.
1 play, 0 yards: Knee to end the half
3 plays, 3 yards: Questionable offensive PI call brings back a 15 yard completion.
3 plays, -9 yards: Dropped pass for a big gain followed by sack.
16 plays, 63 yards: FG
6 plays, 51 yards: Missed FG
2 plays, 66 yards: TD
3 plays, 0 yards: The only true stop of the day that had nothing to do with officiating or A&M errors.
4 plays, 4 yards: Run out the clock drive.
As you can see, two of the drives were end of half/game moments. Three were ended by no real contribution from Bama's defense, and three others were long scoring drives (or should I say, what should have been had we had a decent kicker). Alabama had one true non penalty or mistake aided stop the entire football game.
The reduced yardage had much, much more to do with Bama actually using up some time with their drives than anything.

Saban has proven that when he has a long time to prepare for one team, it equals very bad things for that team.
Assuming Sumlin doesn't have the same amount of time to engineer a W for us

Additionally, the stuff A&M was beating Bama with for yardage and scores late in the game were the same things that were working in the first quarter. Manziel scrambles and beating single coverage on post and corner routes. It worked all day long.
It's not like we had to change what we were doing because Bama adjusted so well. They obviously didnt adjust well enough to stop us from having four additional long drives after the "adjustments" were made. Their first "adjustment" drive ended because Manziel stepped out of bounds too soon.
The only thing they truly eliminated after the first was the quick sideline and curl routes for 5-10 yards. They were never really able to contain the running game, Manziel's scrambling or the downfield passing game.

Good call. We are clearly going to do the same thing we did last year.
if you mean lose you are correct.
Saban is so scared of our gimmick offense he wants it banned.

If it wasn't for a near interception ruled out of bounds for turnover #4 by our D, it would have been a two score win.
And missed a extra point and a chip shot field goal...

What you had better think about is how will you stop Alabama. This might be the best offense we have put on the field in a while.
Stack the box and Cooper and Co torch you. Back off and Yeldon and Fowler run over your asses. You have Johnny Football we have a starter with 3 NC rings and the best skill people in the SEC for him to work with.

Looks like A&M will fit in nicely. One year and talking more shite than the Pigs and LSU together.

All it will take for Bama to win is not playing LSU the week before A&M. That was the real difference in this years game, despite what A&M fans want you to believe.
Of course it was, All Knowing One.

I pretty much agree with this. I'm glad the schedule change has us not opening with Alabama in SEC play for the first time in evar.

Sumlin is in cryogenic stasis until around 2 weeks before Gumps invade College Station. So technically he doesn't have the same amount of time as Saban. I don't get why our AD insists on freezing our coaches every fricking year.

It's an old SEC trick developed in the Bear's day to keep them from dying of fear.

I remember Bama fans telling us they were gonna run it up our arse this year, Saban's gonna kill us with laser beams, and they will break Johnny football.
All that went down like a weak arse Bama defender slowly trying to figure out what the hell just happened to them against the Ags.
But congrats on the trophy. Seriously.

It's still better than Mike Sherman's policy of feeding our team pot brownies in the locker room at half-time

Funny post. You guys are gonna kill TAM, but you guys have to still beat LSU and the SEC East winner. Those are your problems

Sumlin's going to have 9 months to prepare too. It's not like he's going to stick his thumb up his arse and only start getting ready a week before the game.

Wah wah wah... we were too tired to beat you because we played mighty LSU the weak before.
Seriously I thought Alabama was better than that.
So which of the following is why Bama lost to aTm this year?
1. Bama was not conditioned enough to play two quality opponents in a row.
2. Bama was not mentally tough enough play to two quality opponents in a row.
3. The Bama coaching staff is not good enough to be able to develop game plans two weeks in a row for quality opponents.
4. LSU being the week before is just a lame excuse.

LSU was a 3 loss team this year and you had 473 juniors go pro early plus your seniors. LSU is a 3-4 loss team in 2013. And the SECE hasn't won in the Dome in 4 years and counting...

TAMU scored 9 points the last 3 quarters. Nine. Period. There were several 3 and outs, a 4 and out and several other stops. Like it or not, Saban adjusted and contained(not stopped) your offense. Hell, had our Pac12 OC run the damn ball inside the 5 with our sick OL and RB's we would be talking about one of the greatest comebacks in Bama history. Order will be restored in Septmeber, Aggies. We comin' for ya...

We didn't beat Bama. Bama beat Bama.
