And again, Saban's record against elite spread offenses isnt good.

Lining up and trying to out-athlete a team doesnt work when said teams runs an offense like ours. Alabama REFUSED to adjust and change their plan for little 'ol A&M and it bit them.

Saban seems like he is too prideful to admit that his traditional formula frequently fails against good spread teams, because every time he tries the same shite that doesnt work.

Forgive the aggies guys

I'd probably be irritated too if I knew our biggest rivalry ended with us losing to one of the most mediocre teams our rival had fielded in ages

History shows that Saban, even going back to LSU and MSU, has trouble with wide open offenses. At his three major coaching stops in college, I believe his record is 4-8 against "elite" spread offenses.

Exact same? No

Saban is still going to in some form or fashion try and beat us straight up with better athletes. He isnt going to go nickel and dime every down, and he isnt going to design a gameplan entirely around one players. His history proves this to be true.

The man believes his athletes are better than everyone else's, which is true. His problem, and again this is using nearly two decades worth of data, is that he thinks that means he can crush "gimmick" offenses like he does those of traditional offenses.

To beat A&M, you have to come down to our "level" and defend us differently. Florida and LSU almost never line dup in a base defense. Saban routinely tries to cover slot receivers and tight ends with linebackers and safeties.

What do you consider elite spread offenses? Serious question, I want to know which teams you are using as examples.

I also have some questions about A&M's personnel next season, but I'll wait for your response. Again, I'm being serious.

Saban's record the last 5 years is 61-7. He hasn't lost to ANY type of offense very often. Half of those losses came against pro-style LSU...so that theory holds no water. Saban has beaten plenty of spread teams, and you can't just slap the "elite" tag on whichever spread teams help your argument. He's beat that offense more than he's lost to it, that's for damn sure. We comin' for you Aggies....prepare your anus.

You are a moron. Saban plays WAY more nickle and dime than he does base. Something like 70/30. The problem in the TAMU game was that we didn't have enough elite cover people and that hurt us. After the loss, we took Vinnie off the field in Nickle and Dime and started playing Geno Smith and things improved dramatically even against an elite offense like UGA. You Aggies also conveniently forget that after Saban made adjustments after the 1st quarter Bama outscored Sumlin 24-9 over the last THREE quarters. The adjustments this year will be made BEFORE the game not when we are in a 20-0 hole. Those are the facts.

You do know that tears are salty and that's bad for plants, right?

Can we get a Mississippi St guy in here to educate this man on turf management?

in September.

Some of you Gumps are still pretty bitter about that 20-0 lead y'all spotted JFF in your own stadium.

Can we expect another one of these threads tomorrow?

Aggies all up in your head.

Nobody's scared of Sumlin. He has to pay his dues to earn Saban-like respect in the SEC. Win a conference title or two at least, then you can talk about Sumlin in those terms...until then he's just another contender, and we've seen plenty of those come and go over the years. We don't even remember their names.

You means with Bama having that much time to prepare the officails, SEC front office, etc......

A&M you are screwed. I have warned you 100 times so far. You will lose no matter what happens, they will ten bama players hit Johnny football after the whistle, call holding on every scoring play, etc. They can no call you out of a win no problem. Again, yes Texas was bad but you are about to learn how bad Bama is as well. Then we will beat bama but they will go to SEC champ game as we will lose one at least to somebody and so will you, or they will just win the tie breaker. The tie breaker in SEC is Bama gets to go if it is tied, everyone else it goes to higher ranked team.

Sorry guy just the way it is....SEC SEC SEC

20 in the 1st...9 the last 3. You're right...no adjustments

If I remember the LSU and Florida games correctly I'd say y'all are the easiest team to make adjustments against.

Well we have bragging rights for at least 9 more months. I will take them while I can because no one else has them on you. My hope is next year your fans will be stating; we will get you at home next year. I also like that Saban keeps complaining about hurry up offenses, etc. in the news.
