Trolling aside, if we do get him to come home to BR, it’d be an outstanding hire from us. He’s done very well elsewhere, including at A&M. That said, A&M is set for the foreseeable future and has plenty of money to keep what he started going.

Don’t think it’s a coincidence Woodward was in BR this weekend. However, he’s already made the hires that were needed. If so, LSU is getting a good one. Something they sorely need with O in charge of football

The Athletic Director that hired away a National Championship winning coach. Something LSU wishes they had enough money to do.
LSU had the money just not the leadership. That may change here in a few days. Not saying Woodward will definitely leave A&M but don't pretend like you're not nervous about the possibility.

Is Billy Liucci really saying Woodward may leave? Serious question.....
As for your question, no I wouldn't melt. I'd love to see him come home, but no. It's business.

The athletic department and TAF have plenty of money.

I almost hope they do hire Woodward now just to enjoy the Schadenfreude of seeing chin pubes and his cult on texags melt.

To be honest, I don't think this is a situation in which it could ever be just a money situation. If your alma mater comes calling and will pay you comparably to your current position, I just don't see how one turns that down.
I wouldn't be able to. But I'm not Woodward.

Yes, but that's not saying much. A&M's athletic department has a better culture than an athletic department that is in open and public warfare with itself. Crazy, right?
Even though you have a good point about the politically ruthless nature of LSU athletics, LSU is in a better competitive position across the board.
Unfortunately, a&m has always been a place where coaches go to languish in mediocrity to the point of firing or fleeing. Crazy, right?

If he does leave, we will move on. Such is life. He got us Jimbo. His job is basically done.

Yes. He said it’s dangerously close. Which means it’s probably already done and he’s trying to soften the blow. O well. Jimbo will prevail.

You never know what the future holds in college athletics. If Jimbo and Buzz both work out, then that's great for y'all. But if they don't, would you trust your new AD like you do Woodward with making a good hire? You know what you have with Woodward. The unknown always presents cause for concern. Y'all have had the money for a long time and have spent it, but before Woodward you spent it on the wrong people.

It's truly a joy - those rare moments when a rational LSU fan shares his or her thoughts on the rant.
Someone has to even out the hysteria from the rant.
I don't frequent SEC rant too much since it just seems like constant fan base trolling.

Now that the fan base and administration knows that they are capable of getting Jimbo, the days of A&M operating like Texas Tech are done. The bar has been raised for the next AD.
LSU needs someone like Woodward to aim higher because they are basically purple and gold Ole Miss. LSU doesn’t have the national appeal they think they do.

LSU boasts the most department wide national titles in the SEC. Comparing us to Ole Miss...

Dude, no need to make hyperbolic statements you know aren't true like this. LSU may have lost some of its allure they had but they are nowhere near the level of Ole Miss. There is still plenty of national appeal to coach at a school like LSU.
