Don't know why you responded to me with that, I never called him a thug. Plenty in this thread have though.

Idk if he will, but if he does, LSU's bye week couldn't have come at a better time.

This was dumb... as a Aggie fan let me be the first to say Evans flopped worse than an Italian soccer player on that play.

Stupid if he gets suspended.

Cheap flag, Reid is not a thug.

Time for Aggies to move on.

I know, breh. There were more than 1 poster calling him a thug so there wasn't a way I could respond to all of them so I just responded to the last post which happened to be yours.

Dude you are so full of it. There was no flop about it. Thug Reid fricking saw the ball go by. The play was dead and he had plenty of time to stop. He chose to lay a hit on Evans.

Not a suspension but most definitely not a cheap flag. It was obviously late.

The hit was dumb, but not suspension worthy, IMO.

BigAggie, I agree. I'm baffled by this because I've met Eric a couple of times and he's a great guy. I cannot recall another personal foul call on Reid his entire time in an LSU uniform.

Eric Reid*/S/LSU: Reid entered the season with high grades, yet his undisciplined play has thrown up red flags. He posted 11 tackles during the victory over Texas A&M but struggled against the pass and seemed very one-dimensional. Reid was also flagged for two bad penalties, including a 15-yard late hit penalty during the closing stages of the fourth quarter which kept the Aggies in the game. The junior possesses the skills necessary to be a big-time NFL prospect but has not shown the ability to play at a consistently high level.

Let me revise.

Was the hit late? Yes, and because of it flag was thrown.

Did he hit Evans in the head? No.

Why then did Evans fall to the ground grabbing his head?

Evans acted that hit up to help draw the flag, ergo me calling it a flop. Much like Jarvis Landry did all day long to draw PI calls.

You know if it was Landry or even Loston - maybe I could see the desire to deliver a big hit override his judgment. Reid is an honor student with virtually none of that baggage (he's a safety - they hit people, but, for a safety, his demeanor is decidedly on the non-Swaggish side) - the only thing to note on the replay is (and I only really saw it once) from the angle from the QB's perspective (really the goalposts behind the QB) it looked like Reid was almost at a stop, then lunged up at the WR, almost a defensive instinct. From the sideline, it looked as if the receiver had come to a stop, the ball went through and Reid paused then hit him (of course that was in slow motion).

I'm not saying our kids are choirboys, but it makes more sense that it was either confusion or a reflex rather than a straight up dirty "Nick Fairley-esque"-type hit.

Wasn't Evans throwing up while he was on the ground? I thought I could see him vomiting, but who knows. Either way, I don't think this hit should warrant a suspension. I think he intended to give him more of a shoulder nudge and just caught him at a bad angle. He got flagged and we got the field position, so not sure what else the league should really do.

Why are we even talking about suspension? It was indeed a late hit, but nothing more. And, the player did flop a bit. Reid hit him with his shoulder in the WRs chest. The dude grabbed his helmet and was squirming on the ground like he just took a James Harrison hit to the dome. It was a late hit and thats all. They got the penalty, now stop whining.

So did the hit Tae Elston put on that UTEP player. Doesn't mean it wasn't uncalled for or dirty. Dirty plays happen all the time. The Reid hit was stupid and selfish. So was the Suplex. It was penalized on the field, over and done with.

He hasn't had a great junior year, which could be part of the problem as he is maybe trying a bit too hard and overthinking things. We've had plenty of thugs over time (any football team has their share of meatheads). That being said, Reid is a bright kid (check his accomplishments in the classroom) who is also a good citizen.

Reid made his arse quit. He ran about 3 wrong routes immediately after that.

Welcome to the sec, chump.

Ever been laid out so many times in one game in the big 12?
