If Pitt can stack top 15-20 type classes, led by very solid to great O-linemen, then there's nor rwaon he can't easily do what Bert did his 1st 3 yrs (the ones where Pitan was still on staff).

So that Means 8 wins and bowl games every year.

Luke has never been a good recruiter. He is lazy, and specifically said he didn't like putting in the time to recruit as the reason he quit when he was on Coach O's staff.

And just to add to this - Luke is also one of the worst OL coaches we've ever had at Ole Miss.

Anyone with half a brain was calling for him to be fired a O line coach years ago. He is the Tyrone Nix of O line coaches. Totally relies on top level talent and when it runs out it is a complete disaster.

Years two and three at Arkansas the pitboss should show some huge improvement. Briles and Odom are huge upgrades from what Luke had in Oxford.

You deal realize both coaches that Luke had for coordinators were national coaches of the year in the past..Briles has never even been a head coach and Odom was pretty underwhelming as a head coach..Let's not get stupid here

However, there’s a ceiling at Ole Miss that can’t be broken, without cheating, obviously. Arkansas has more resources & a higher ceiling.

It’s not a good comparison, anyway. The two programs are different.

I'm not sure why everyone wants to look at how a coordinator does as a head coach as any type of indicator. We already have a ton of evidence that shows you can be a great coordinator and shitty head coach.

Sam isn't going to insert himself that much at all, he is going to leave his staff a lone. Which I believe will be his strength.

Now if he hired a staff that was similar to what Morris brought in then no doubt he will fail.

Pittman was widely respected by other coaches outside of Athens, and generally is considered the best OL coach in the country.

Luke was just some fat Ole Miss-tard who hung around Oxford long enough to become entrenched as "a part of the program", and finally got Peter-principled.

Good OL and DLs are like having a solid starting rotation in baseball; it keeps you in every game. Pittman has shown that he can both recruit and coach big men. You let his staff draw in a solid QB and don't sleep on the Hogs.

Yet Kirby not only hires him to replace Pittman, but pays him more money....by the way, I agree with your assessment of Luke

Kind of my thought on it. I don't mean Arkansas should be totally satisfied because 8 wins it's not the mountain top. But that will get Arkansas back to level, and it can climb from there.

Oh, I know what you meant. I should have stressed that.

When you post something I know you mean what you say and say what you mean. It's refreshing.

I will, of course, say that I only posted this because I'm taking some wonderful drugs for the 2nd degree burn I have on my foot if I am questioned on this matter.

PittBoss is easily my favorite SEC nickname. It’s just so perfect for his look/job.
