Honestly, yeah, gained a lot of respect for him. He was forced into that split second decision, but later pushed back to be allowed to coach the playoff and actually had legit game plans.
None of the drama was his fault and he did his best to minimize. I’d buy him a beer

I like CWJr. After the debacle, he came back and apologized for leaving and was very upfront in that if he couldn't coach in the playoffs then he would not leave to go to LSU. He's a good dude and will be a HC in the next year or two.

Charlie is good.. He did it the right way. He didn't leave without saying goodbye...
We going to get to tell LK goodbye tomorrow. 100%

lol at the moment they realize the OC has also left them.

I would imagine they will also thank Lane for allowing Weis to coach them in the playoffs.

Charlie is making almost $3 million a year as an OC.
No way he could pass on that offer unless we made him the Head Coach.
All level-headed Ole Miss fans are thankful for his hard work and service to our program.

This I believe.
There's a fair amount of LSU fan fiction that surrounds this slimy situation Kiffin put Ole Miss in. One of those fanciful tales is that Kiffin was "gracious" enough to loan Weiss to Ole Miss for the playoffs.
Well the opposite is likely true. Weiss probably made it clear to Kiffin that if he didn't get to finish what he started, he wouldn't head south.
Although power 4 coaching does indeed require a measure of moral flexibility. Most aren't willing to take it to the depths that Lane Kiffin is willing to take it.

Quite the fan fiction you have there. LSU from the beginning said ALL of the coaches that wanted to come could coach all the way through the Championship game if necessary. No fake ultimatums were required, but whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better.

You forgot to quote this part.

Not sure how Weis interviews, but it must be a real thing. I'm still trying to figure out how Arkansas passed on Kane Wommack.
