You’ve never seen a personal foul on the final drive before?

Ahit ive seen it happen to LSU before.

The shoe toss certainly helped LSU but it didn't determine the game.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Not from a shoe toss, no.

You can disagree if you want.

Doesn't change the fact that the shoe toss didn't determine the winner of the game

That's revisionist history.

And you may disagree if you want but it doesn't change the fact that it was a fluke play at a critical point in the game. Without that fluke play going lsu's way they lose, it's that simple.

I don’t think that will happen though because Mullen has a pretty good track record with his offenses. On the other hand I have no faith in Ed O. He struck gold once with Brady, but his other hires have not been as good.

Mullen's offenses in 2018 and 2019 were really no better than what LSU trotted out in 2020

Yards Per Game

2020 LSU: 433.9

2019 Florida: 421.4

2018 Florida: 409.3

Points Per Game

2020 LSU: 32.0

2019 Florida: 31.7

2018 Florida: 30.8

A player acting unsportsmanlike being penalized for acting unsportsmanlike isn’t a fluke. It’s a rule.

Florida's previous 4 drives to the shoe toss.... 1 FG and #3 3 and outs. So how is it that simple?

Right, a fluke is a funny bounce, a guy throwing a shoe is intentional. Nothing fluky about that.

LSU won and outplayed Florida, just not sure how you can post with a straight face and say that wasn't the most crucial moment of the game outside of the actually kick which aided by said play.

I didn't say it wasn't crucial, just that it didn't determine the outcome of the game.

Any LSU fan who wouldn’t take 10-2 after last season is a delusional a-hole. I’ll take 10-2 as long as the 2 losses aren’t blowouts and are relatively competitive. We can’t afford another beat down from Alabama. A loss? Sure. Not an embarrassing one though.

The floor for LSU is 10 wins and the ceiling is the CFP.

With Coach O, the CFP is past history

As bad as LSU was last season, they still beat Ole Miss. Meanwhile, while LSU will be vastly improved in 2021 relative to 2020 and Ole Miss will be about the same as they were in 2020, how do you figure they have a remote chance in hell of beating LSU?

LSU had no defense last year and at times couldn't run the ball...that's how you suck.

LSU couldn't run the ball when TJ Finley was the QB, but ran the ball well when Myles Brennan and Max Johnson were the QBs.

As when TJ Finley was the QB, everyone loaded the box because no one respected Finley as a passer.

Meanwhile, the defense was atrocious last season for one reason and one reason alone and that was because Scott Woodward and not Ed O, hired Bo Pelini, who had not coached a defense since 2007 and who was totally ill prepared to stop modern day spread offenses, to be the DC.

As that was the single biggest problem at LSU last season. As the offense in most of the games played well enough to win, but at the same time, Bo Pelini's leaky defense committed so many miscues that those games were literally impossible to win.

how was LSU so bad last year with all the talent they have

LSU coaches did not handle the "epidemic" year very well. (I'm not an orgeron supporter).
Gotta give Saban props on that front.
Hopefully this year, my team will be back to form. We will see though.
