Will LSU Be Better This Season?

This isn't a troll. I just started thinking, how was LSU so bad last year with all the talent they have? Was there some problem last year, and is there any reason why they'll be better this year?

They won't be as bad, but they won't be very good.

simple answer? the coaches got lazy after 2019

They will probably win 8-9 games this year

Might lose 1 game. 2 at the most.

With as much talent as they have, it'll be difficult to be that bad again. I doubt they'll be great. The new hires are unknowns. It'll take time with the new systems. They don't have an elite QB to lead them. But they return a ton of players. I think 8 to 9 wins is a reasonable goal with their schedule.

WE lost too many players last season, to grad, NFL, and Covid. It was like starting all over and with an incompetent DC. Then our starting QB went down and we just never recovered.
I have no idea what our record will end up being in 2021, but we won't win less than 8 games, IMO.

Lots of A&M, Georgia, Florida, and even some Ole Miss fans are also confident in that result for their teams.
What could go wrong?

We will win between 0 and 15 games. That is my bold prediction.

Having all the best players available in a real season will help. You may recall the Tigers went undefeated in the most recent real NCAA season.

Probably lose to Alabama and Ole Miss at the end and beat the rest.
LSU had no defense last year and at times couldn't run the ball...that's how you suck.

Even with everything that went wrong last year, they're still likely an 8-4 or 7-5 team in 2020 with a regular schedule.
I'd be surprised to see them win less than 9 in 2021.

Auburn will blow them out again

2021 LSU Schedule
Date Opponent Series Record
Sept. 4 at UCLA | First Meeting
Sept. 11 McNEESE STATE | LSU leads 1-0
Sept. 18 CENTRAL MICHIGAN | First Meeting
Sept. 25 at Mississippi State | LSU leads 75-36-3
Oct. 2 AUBURN | LSU leads 30-23-1
Oct. 9 at Kentucky | LSU leads 40-16-1
Oct. 16 FLORIDA | Florida leads 33-31-3
Oct. 23 at Ole Miss | LSU leads 64-41-4
Oct. 30 Open Date
Nov. 6 at Alabama | Alabama leads 54-26-5
Nov. 13 ARKANSAS | LSU leads 42-22-2
Nov. 20 UL-MONROE | LSU leads 3-0
Nov. 27 TEXAS A&M | LSU leads 34-22-3
I see two losses for LSU. They get AU, UF, and aTm at home which sets up good for them.
Possible losses for them against UF, OM, BAMA, and aTm. I think BAMA gets them, and I think they'll drop one more. It will likely come against either UF or OM, as that will be their 4th and 5th SEC game in a row. I know theirs a lot of hype behind aTm this season, but I've got to see it to believe it, and I think LSU gets it done. OM is really a wild card. We know their going to score, but how much improvement will their defense have?
Also, I am not predicting it to happen. Actually I think the chances are slim to none, but if UCLA can somehow beat LSU in the opener I think LSU will derail, and Coach O will be all but finished at LSU if it were to happen.

No. Stop worrying about it.

I don't know, O can rally a team with the best of them.
Look at both of his interim stints, upsetting Florida after losing to Troy, and finishing out last year at 2-0.

Pretty much agree with everything you said except being derailed by UCLA.
In 2017, after losing to Miss State and Troy, LSU finished the regular season. 6-1 with its sole loss to Alabama. That included a win over the Auburn team that beat Bama and Georgia.
That's all to say a loss should not derail the season.
