I think they will go 8-4 with loses to Ole Miss, Alabama, UF, and A&M.

I could see Alabama certainly, maybe one of the other three.

However, LSU has more talent on paper than the other three and returns most of its starters from 2020 while the other three lost some significant contributors.

If LSU goes 0-3 vs them then they would've gotten worse than they were in 2020 which is hard to imagine.

less SEC games more cupcake games in a normal season than 2020

Interesting, 2020 was more difficult than a normal season. Thanks for the clarification.

For LSU it certainly was if you look at their original schedule vs the one they played.

A&M as well. And yet, Jimbo persevered.

Congratulations.

I believe most experts projected A&M to have a good year because they returned some of the most players in the country in a season where experience was even more valuable than usual.

Just depends.

I think LSU's 2020 schedule was more difficult than their original 2020 schedule but I don't think it was more difficult than their 2019 schedule.

Florida: has as much talent as LSU across the board. LSU plays UF as game 4 of a 5 game SEC stretch. UF will be too good on offense for LSU to keep up. Like Alabama, I just think UF is better.

Ole Miss: Should be deadly on offense. I just think LSU catches Ole Miss at the wrong time.

A&M: Right now the LSU game is their rivalry game. I could easily see LSU winning this game. I would say it’s a coin flip depending on how each team progresses through the season.

I haven't seen any Ole Miss fans claim we only lose 1 or 2. Our Defense alone will prevent that.

Maybe, but they did lose basically all of their big playmakers from 2020 and this LSU team beat them on the road.

Why do you think Florida’s offense will be better than last year? Their offense should get worse our defense should get better.

And unless Ole Miss found a guy who can stop Boutte on a crossing route I like our chances there too.

Their offensive staff is still there and they are proven. If Joe Brady was still at LSU my opinion would swing the other way.

You were supposed to be better on defense last year as well.

Just hard for me to see when this LSU team beat Florida last season and they'll likely be taking a step back from what they were last year.

Correct, I agree its a pretty obvious factor, glad you see it too
and with the attrition, new coaches, inexperience, and a 2019 hangover added to it...it was the perfect storm of suck

If there was ever a team in the last 2 decades at LSU not equipped to handle a more difficult schedule it was our 2020 team

There are less than a handful of teams every season that would beat anyone put in front of them in their conference, for the rest, schedule is a factor in wins and losses without even including the above mentioned factors

What made it a fluke?

Just on paper, LSU will have more talent on the field in 2021 and Florida will have less than they did in 2020.

I've been watching college football for half a century and that is the ONLY game I've witnessed where the winning scoring drive came courtesy of a shoe toss. A SHOE TOSS!

I do t think they will take a step back offensively unless Emory turns into Jeremy Johnson. I don’t think that will happen though because Mullen has a pretty good track record with his offenses. On the other hand I have no faith in Ed O. He struck gold once with Brady, but his other hires have not been as good.

The shoe toss certainly helped LSU but it didn't determine the game.
