Levis’s potential is really based upon what he did when he had some semblance of an OL and a quality OC (Coen).
He was injured most of last season and was (I think) the most sacked QB in the country. His reduced mobility definitely hurt him. And Scang’s offense was so atrocious that he got him fired after one season.
ETA: I firmly believe this last season is going to be the one that got away when it comes to Levis. We couldn’t protect him or give him a decent scheme.

Projection is ugly man.
Imagine unironically saying this after starting a thread consisting of butt hurt and then trying to defend it with literally "N-no you"

EJ manual and Christian ponder went in the first round….would be just as dumb

Not SEC, but Ryan Tannehill for us. He was 6’4” 240lbs with a bazooka. All he had was Jeff Fuller, Swoopes. Size matters in the NFL, not in college.

Yeah I actually don’t mind some of the Levis projections. Like you said, after Josh Allen there’s a lot to be said about high ceiling QBs.
But that’s not the purpose of my thread. I’m not doubting the scouts and analysts who do this for a living. I’m just wondering when was the last time we had a player go so high who did as little as them in college.
It’s an interesting question IMO and kind of indicative of the shift we’ve seen recently in evaluating QBs. Unfortunately there are some Ken12cky fans on here who are very fragile

Tannehill and Gabbert were the only ones that kinda fit into that category that I remember but neither played in the SEC

TL;DR
I’m gonna guess Fatguy is still big mad that I pointed out Levis’ lack of collegiate success

When was the last time the SEC had a player go top 10 who had a collegiate career as uninspiring as them?
Wow, Stetson is a dog shite prospect, and then factor in his age, why would anyone just waste a draft pick on him

Obviously I follow recruiting/nfl draft. Ryan was still playing WR for us, and was a projected 1st round QB on several future mock drafts. I never understood how when we had never seen him play QB yet.

One of those surprises me

I've actually read enough about scouts and what they've seen from Levis that I've come around on him. He obviously has some stuff that he needs to fix and isn't an automatic, but he was severly hurt by things around him, system, pressure, drops, etc. Not sure about using a Top 5 pick on him, but I at least get it a little bit more.
It probably helps he’s going to be highly marketable off the field as well, which is something they consider in the NFL from a business perspective. Gives good interviews, has some personality, keeps his shite together off the field, attractive kid.

Bro I even included a picture for you to look at to make it easier.
Does the university of Georgia really let anyone in now?

Damn, Daniels would’ve gone ahead of Richardson
No he wouldn’t not have or else he’d be gone.

I won't hate on the levis speculation. He kinda reminds me of a justin herbert situation where he's got all the physical tools but never really wowed you in college but you coudl tell he could be good at the next level wtih teh right fit.
Richardson, I simply do not get and whoever drafts him is making a monumental mistake. People are going to draft him for the sole reason taht they want him to be cam newton simply becuase their phsyical makeups are similar. Richardson made his living in college against inferior competition or out-athleting people. UGA was clearly the best defenses he faced in college nad he sucked out loud in both meetings. He simply is not an NFL QB and is going to get eaten alive. Draft him in the 4th round sure and take a flyer on him. But top half of the first round? I don't even think the falcons are that dumb.

never said other guys should be drafted over him. I just asked when was the last time a top 10 pick was this bad in college? It’s kind of a new territory of “potential”
Daniel Jones
Mitch Trubisky

Neither were first rounders, much more top 10

Troy Williamson was the #7 pick in 2005. He had a total of 13 TD receptions over 3 seasons at South Carolina. He had 7 TDs in his last year...but 3 of those were against South Florida. Him going in the top 10 was a head-scratcher.

I know he had several picks against Tennessee this year.

i'm sorry that your QB, that can only throw quick slants and check downs to the RB, isn't going in the 1st round.
