Will Husan Longstreet be able to win for LSU if Leavitt can't make it for the long haul?

..I have heard from folks that post operative arthritis may limit Leavitt due the pain and stiffness.

May be the best case for LSU because I see Longstreet as having a much higher ceiling. May as well throw him in the deep end.

He fits the mold of a QB that Kiffin can get the most out of. Feels good to have a coach where we really don't need to worry about the QB being shitty.

I really like our 3rd string QB, Landen Clark, too if Husan isn't ready. Gamer.

If there’s no Leavitt, it’s going to be a rough year

First pick Leavitt throws I'll be on the Batphone insisting Longstreet be put in.

Not really — he’s honestly not that good.

Surprised to see an LSU fan say this but I tend to agree that he's had a lot more hype than actual substance to this point. Lisfranc injuries are also tricky and Sam relies heavily on his mobility to make plays.

But as another LSU poster noted, I wouldn't worry about Lane getting production out of a QB. Just has to limit turnovers. Corral and Dart both had turnover problems in year 1 and Simmons was well on his way to continuing that trend. Chambliss is a freak.

Will any other SEC team be able to win if their starting QB went down?

Oh, forgot, Leavitt is the only SEC QB.

Imagine if Arch Manning had a foot surgery…AFTER Leavitt did!!!

I don't know if Leavitt will be ready or whatever but I trust Lane with QB's, generally every starter he's had has ended up being at least good and he has three guys to choose from this season.

almost assuredly not

the teams that can win anything of note with their backup qb is closer to 0 than it is even 5, and longstreet doesn't have meaningful reps under his belt.
