Petrino won 22 games in two years and didn't win the division either year. What's your point?

The fact just like Petrino if you look behind the scenes Mullen is no different. Look at Bobby now. Enjoy Mullen.

Even if he leaves Miss State, he ain't going to Arkansas. That'd be a huge step down in programs

Yes a university that has NEVER won a Natty in ANY sports is better than Arkansas. Gtfo

Wow chippy today are we? True enough , we have not won a Natty in football or under water basket weaving for that matter.
Of course quite a few other schools have not won a Natty either.
I think we will break through on that in the next few years however in baseball or women’s basketball.

Sadly we may have a NC back in 1962 in Men’s Basketball. We were 24-1 during the regular season, won the SEC with a 13-1 mark but were not allowed to play in the NCAA. That team very well may have won it.
Were ranked #3 at seasons end.
Thankfully the next year they busted through that obstacle.
Still it was a shame that the ‘62 team did not get a chance to play in the tournament nor did the ‘59 or ‘61 teams either. :(

Modern history and current status are all that matters. If stuff from the distant past was all that was important, everyone short of Nick Saban would be knocking down the doors in order to coach in the Ivy League.

I do wish he was Arkansas' coach.

Last team each were #1 in the AP

State - 5 weeks at #1 2014

Arkansas - 1 week at #1 1965

Better question. Will the fat arse coach from Arkansas BBQ and eat an entire 180 pound hog the day after the egg bowl. I swear I can never remember his name.

Fat arse coach from Arkansas will work, won't it? or does that point toward every male in Arkansas?

State and Arkansas arguing over whose program is better is like two midgets arguing over which is the tallest. MSU is slightly taller, but it doesn't matter.

On to the OP's original question...yes, Mullen will coach MSU's bowl game, and he has a good chance to be coaching MSU in the SECC next year. Next year's team will be his best ever at State. That's why he's not leaving.

Would you care to try any other of the NCAA sports?

Btw nice argument. Congrats #1!! (For 5 weeks) lol

I need to see which year Arkansas had more tackles than State to convince you next round I guess.
