I was busy watching the Dawgs kick the shite out of LSU and am just now seeing the Hail Mary play. Were they focused on preventing a field goal? That wide receiver got behind the coverage and 99% of the time that doesn't happen if you're playing prevent

There is no way you let a receiver get behind you on that play. No way

Botch said he didn't have and more DBs available to go to the dime, so they stayed in the nickel package.

You can play prevent from the nickel...

Botch said that his team had too many injuries to run a dime package.

No seriously, that was his explanation.

We have 5 CBs on the bench and we didn't have enough to play prevent

They shouldn't have gone with the full "defend the goal line" prevent, but they should not have been playing tight coverage. The CB at the top of the screen when the play starts is playing tight, almost press, coverage. The safeties also only like 15 yards from the LOS, give or take. They should have been deeper, at least have their heels on the limit of UF's FG range then drop from there.

A 25-30 yard pass gets you in FG range. They couldn't play the pervert D, but there should be no way you let any WR get behind you.

At the very least they should have had 3 deep safeties and played man the rest of the way. When I got the alert on my phone I figured it was just a jump ball that Florlda was able to come down with. I was shocked when I saw the play for the first time this morning.

Don't think they expected a 66yd pass in the air. I know the safety didn't.

Pretty sure Florida held like a mofo and also heard the dude dropped the ball or something.

Hell, you didn't even need to run dime. A) Don't let the corner bite on an underneath out route that wouldn't have been in field goal range with only 9 seconds on the clock at the start of the play... B) Who is 22? He looked out of position and took bad angles almost every time I saw him in the frame... caught napping in a critical moment is a bad look. Probably shouldn't have had him covering half the field from the safety position considering poor play throughout the game.

At the very least you play cover 4 and tell you're DBs do not come up on a WR until the ball leaves the QBs hands.

And you only need 4 DBs for cover 4.

Yeah I don't know what Abernathy was doing. He's normally solid. Martin is the cornerback on the bottom but he's always fricking up so that didn't surprise me.

With 9 seconds, they can't get enough yards. Sgt. Carter choked again. Cover the outs keep them inbounds and in front. Nothing sucks like a big orange.
