Nebraska continues to have run-ins with the egghead presidents in charge of the B1G. The latest involved the Wisconsin game being cancelled due to corona and Nebraska trying to pick up a quick game with UT Chattanooga or someone. Nebraska just wants to play football. They are a football school with great tradition and a great fanbase. The B1G wants to think they are a bastion of amateur athleticism ensconced in the midwestern academic equivalent of the Ivy League and athletics, especially football, is a distant second in importance.

It's not a good fit for Nebraska and Covid has shown the differences. Missouri has never been a good fit in the SEC. Sounds like they would slide right into the Cornhuskers slot in the B1G and Nebraska would be a better fit for the SEC. It's only another 320 miles from CoMo to Lincoln. I think we should seriously consider a trade. It would revive the football program in Lincoln, Missou would be in the B1G like they've always wanted, Nebraska would be rid of the academic snobs in the B1G, and everyone would be in a happier place.

Why not Nebraska?

Nebraska and Missouri belong in the Big Ten or the Big 12. There is nothing Southeast about Missouri.

You're an idiot. I like the Huskers program, but geographically they make even less sense than having Missouri. Nebraska belongs in the Big 12, not the Big 10 and certainly NOT in the SEC. You're an Alabama turd.

Maybe not, but I guarantee you more people would be tuned in to see a resurrected Nebraska football team play Alabama, LSU, UGA, etc, than Missouri. There are a TON of Nebraska fans not living in the state of Nebraska.

Heck no.

The will become even MORE irrelevant than they already are in the BIG10 if they joined SEC.

We need a North Carolina and Virginia school in the league before Nebraska

But now that the ACC is locked in with their league and Notre Dame likely joining full time within a few years SEC is never going to be in those states. Likeliest schools to join the SEC are Oklahoma and Texas. Which is not likely.

We already have a Tennessee, we don't need another one.

I feel like we don’t need anymore teams, as it is you only play some of the East teams like once every 5-6 years. We should do away with the locked in common opponents from the other side.

UCF, would love to see them lose 6-7 conference games a year & then shut their sorry, big-mouth asses up.

I don't think the resurrection is possible. Not enough in state talent. Where will the players come from? Texas? They have to fight with every other team for those players.

And when Missouri is good we drew even better ratings than Nebraska. In 2007, Mizzou put 2 games in the top 10 ratings of all time for the regular season.

The most SEC are, non Southern Penn State. Not a fit location.

If they can't survive in the midwest B1G, they would do even worse and bring nothing to the SEC.

Nebraska is in the B10 because we are not. We passed on the junior membership offer and they jumped on it. IF in hindsight the B10 would have offered full member status we would have taken it. They did not and here we are, happy as a lark.

The idea that central and southern Missouri is a different culture than Fayetteville is a joke.

While I wont call Fayetteville totally southern, it shares more with the South than any part of Missouri. When you cross the border into Missouri you might as well be in Iowa or Nebraska.

People really think markets, quality of team, and program history are more important than regional culture.

Give me Miss St. over Iowa or Purdue. We are a southern conference.

Honestly the best fits for the SEC outside of the conference are Clemson and FSU.

The fact that culturally you cant consider UVA southern anymore is BONKERS to me, but alas its true.

I considered Georgia Tech but for the same reason that I dont really like Vandy i dont like them. They arent in a college town. They are some school in a massive city and thats just not very...SEC to me.
