From the OU president's letter to the university.
quote:
Without this bold move, we risk seriously weakening our athletics program even to the point of needing to look to the academic arm of the university, or our state government, to subsidize athletics. We refuse to let that happen.

A better question is how do the "poors" keep winning while the "rich" programs remain mediocre?

Ever been to Oklahoma?? They have four day a week school because of budget cuts

They’ve been paying to repair their image after this shite

Ya'll at A%M do know that constantly bragging/talking about money when you're consistently mediocre at best is a bad look right?

We are proud to support our program

OU is a top 8 revenue program. Also accepts no state aid for sports.

Yeah that’s not true. School is five days a week.

Don’t displace your anger! You’re mad at daddy Kirby!

It takes a village but in this case the Oklahoma village is full of teen pregnancy, crystal meth, poverty, and ex-cons.
The good news for the Okies is that only states to be even crappier per most statistics are Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Question is ...why does the SEC want to let poor little Oklahoma into the rich club?

CYA move to justify leaving BIG XII .OU obviously does well revenue wise but they could be like other big revenue schools and live paycheck to paycheck.
Lots of schools are taking on serious long term debt to keep up with the Joneses

Ever been to the Texas Panhandle? Way worse than anything in Oklahoma.

Probably in reference to NIL. That will represent a revenue reduction and if anyone does not think empty stadiums last year did not kill even rich programs, they are crazy.

What exactly makes Oklahoma better than the panhandle? At best, it's a wash.

Texas cannot be considered a rich program if they cannot complete their capital campaign for their stadium. Still, hilarious!
