People don't take as much deep pride in basketball. They could sort of take it or leave it. They're in till their team loses and then they let it go. Except for Kentucky and maybe Arkansas. They got more invested on a personal identity level.

It didn’t really hit in Arkansas until the 70s when Frank Broyles decided to invest in it and brought in Eddie Sutton to get the program running. It took root and now the fans love it. It’s a sport that gives us a possibility of winning a championship, other than track, and there’s nothing better than March madness.

We're more intelligent, more refined, more civilized fans as a whole.

Much higher income levels on average, taller, better looking, with smokeshow wives and girlfriends.

Smart man, lsu and scar fans take their lady basketball very seriously

When I think of BASKETBALL I think of the time Bama beat lsu in a tournament game and after the clock hit 0:00 Oats pointed at the exit and told those losers to GTFO.

One of my all time memories of Alabama basketball.

You missed the election stuff from the polo and election boards. Basketball is mild because the dumbass brigade doesn’t follow it.

It’s even more civilized during baseball season. Someone posted gifs that were similar to the ones below explaining the difference:

But to be honest, only half of us stay on here all 3 seasons. The crowds of posters are different.

Like BigOrangleKen only does football season. He will leave until August once it’s done. Pio has basketball down. BigDgator handles a lot of baseball stuff. You’ll learn as the year goes on.

Huge college baseball fan. This is where I will have to adjust to losing. SEC is a great baseball conference, just as good as football.

Because it’s basketball. This is the SEC. We like football and baseball.

Unless you’re one of the yankee / Appalachia schools like Kentucky, Arkansas, and weirdo Tennessee (which is odd considering they haven’t been to a Final 4, ever), we don’t care.

Alabama and Auburn (especially Auburn fans) have been pretty supportive of basketball programs in the last 5-10 years.

Just because LSU has had a rough go of it doesn't mean that everyone just ignores basketball. Y'all certainly gave a shite under Will Wade.

Because most of the fricks that want to talk about basketball, have already been humbled by this football season.
