Florida is either the furthest or second furthest away trip you can make as an LSU fan.
It takes longer to get to Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, & Georgia.

Cry me a river. We had Arkansas for the past 20 something years, and now we get to travel a few hundred miles further to fricking Texas every year. While Arkansas gets a much shorter trip and a more favorable opponent.
Besides this post, have you seen one of us bitch?
No. I haven't. I also don't subscribe to the fact that because you are fine with something no one else has the right to think a better way is possible. South Carolina hasn't exactly put the fear of God into people in football for the last 20 years or so. I actually wouldn't mind a trip to Columbia being possible more frequently.

If UT was your #1 rival I would get that, but they aren't. This would be like UT demanding Vandy be kept on their schedule because it's "such a big rivalry"

i don't think you know what "deflection" means

Your argument might be a little stronger if it weren't for the fact that playing Florida every year hasn't prevented you guys from making it to the BCS title game 3 times in the last ten years.

Word is the USC also supported doing away with the permanent rivalries, along with A&M. But those two actually have a totally legit reason for doing so.
And unlike LSU, they aren't publicly pissing and moaning like a bunch of prepubescent girls.

If you gumps can't see how this is unfair, then I really see how the stereotype for you guys came to be. UF is the most successful team in the SEC, and we don't have a rivalry with them. I would rather have it even, and have it to where we play everyone the same amount, but it doesn't bother me with the way it is. The way it is now is uneven (fact), and almost definitely unfair in a sense. Those who fail to see that have either bias or questionable intellect. The case that can be made for keeping it how it is, would be that the importance of maintaining rivalries outweighs the importance of equality, and that is a valid point

As we shouldn't have. I think you completely misunderstood the point of my post.

Wow Draconian, you went from trolling Bama fans about Nov. 5th, to disappearing from the rant, to making this shitty arse whine thread? Have some dignity, man.

LSU beat Florida. LSU failed to beat Alabama, Auburn and Arkansas. OK??
Are you going to suggest that you got someone hurt and that because you did not have the depth you needed to contend for the SEC championship you should not have to play Florida?
Last I recall, Florida lost some player while playing Alabama this past year and then lost to LSU. Maybe the LSU loss should not count since they were without a player that they needed?
Go read the recap of what happened. Not the result. You don't know and you also don't know how it affected the West race, because Bama was on probation so you just scheduled a game against Hawai'i since you couldn't go bowling.

Why are you directing this query at Alabama? Everyone thinks it's unfair because Alabama gets to play a weak Tennessee team every year, but if it's so unfair, shouldn't the people most up in arms be Tennessee for having to play Alabama?
Why don't you conduct a poll of Tennessee fans and see how many of them want to stop playing Alabama? It's going to be a staggering result.

Nope. Totally understood it. My point is, you didn't care because until recently, my recollection is USC didn't come close to winning the East.
Also, didn't your Coach just bitch about how only division games should count.
That is the pot calling the kettle black.

SEC has to weigh all factors including competitive balance, traditional rivalries, travel, tv money, etc when making these decisions.
If we could make UGA and UF permanent cross divisional games I would be for it. Our schedule would be harder, but it would be more fun as a fan.

how many times did Bama play UF from 2000-2007? twice. Bama ducked 5 automatic losses right there. UF went 9-1 against LSU in the 90's. 8-2 against Auburn. I'm going to tell it like it is. neither Bama nor LSU wants a piece of UF as the permanent regular season opponent. save your "We'd LOVE to play UF every year" bullshite. I know you're full of shite but you won't admit it.
Winningest teams of the 90's
1. FSU
2. Nebraska
3. Marshall
4. Florida 102-22-1
5. Tennessee 99-22-2
You realize Tennessee was pretty good in the 90's too right?
They've been bad for a bit now but they're historically a great program. Florida stinks right now... why does everyone just assuming they're about to rise again. Bama was down for a 10 year period. This stuff always goes in cycles.

Where are the Florida fans whining about having to play lsu every year?
Posted on 5/31/12 at 10:43 am to Crompdaddy8
22-14 record against UF says we aren't scared of them brah.

GoBigOrange86:
You're trying to explain rivalries to a team (LSU) that doesn't have any. It's a concept they don't personally understand so they just cry about Saban and call us Gumps.
Someone said it best like on page 5 of this retarded thread: "I don't care who bama plays as long as it includes Auburn and Tennessee". Exactly.
